"I have two things to say about the Mayweather fans who email me: No. 1, they are 90 percent of the reason I want to see Floyd humbled, and No. 2, most of them are so stupid they probably didn’t catch the sarcasm in the first two sentences of your email."

Doug is pretty much like people here who hate a fighter because of the fighter's unreasonable fans!
Say it ain't true....
A lotta people posting before saying "I don't hate Manny, I just hate his retard fans..."
Same boat then!
Bingo!! :boxing:
Speaking for myself, I find many Floyd's fans here to be insufferable. They disrepect anyone who is compared to him or suggested as a worthy challenger. They obsess about how much Floyd makes and how much he draws on PPV. They disrespect past boxing greats by buying into Floyd's hype about being the "best of all time", even though his infrequent fighting and carefully selected opponents don't justify it. They follow Floyd like sheep and believe that Pacquaio is juiced up despite not one shred of evidence indicating it other than his demented father and uncle pointing a finger. They won't accept that Floyd is as much to blame for no Pac fight as Manny is.
When Floyd makes these comments it is easier to take because a) almost everyone knows he moslty does this to hype up the gate for his fights by getting people to pay hoping that he'll lose, and b) Floyd is the one delivering the tremendous talent that he obviously has. That's a lot different than when one of his cult followers or fanboys do the same thing.
So now you have one reply. Hopefully you'll get more.
I can see how some might get annoyed with Floyd fan boys. In my exp, Floyd fan boys, seem to be a little more aggressive and defensive when someone does not see eye to eye with them. Sure ive seen the same with Pac as well, but, in my PERSONAL exp, more so the Floyd fan boys are the ones to be overly aggressive and easily aggravated.
Then again those are the FAN BOYS, NOT THE FANS.
80% of Mayweathers fans didn't know who the hell he was b4 they seen him on HBO's 24/7 and fell in love with his cocky, vilian type character. Aside from being a great boxer, he's marketed himself tremendously. Those fans are the 1's Dougie is talking about. So all you real Boxing fans that happen 2 be Mayweather fans because he's a hell of boxer shouldn't take his comments personal.
agree! Floyd has lost me as a fan since he changed the way he fights post 135lb and adopted this persona that has made him rich.
Still respect the skill and watch him fight because first and foremost I am a huge boxing fan but i would be lying to you if i didnt admit that the second reason i watch floyd fights is because i want to see him lose
What i have noticed about floyd fans in dougs mailbag is they always criticize his writing when he writes a piece on floyd that is anything short of calling him the greatest fighter to ever lace on a pair of gloves.

Great post! i cant wait to see floyd lose.
I cant wait to see pac lose again for those similar reasons.
As far as doug fischer goes
to be fair when he discredits floyd or is not professional its always done in his mail bag. which is the equivalent to a blog. so professionalism is not required because its informal forum in which he interacts with boxing fans.
i have never seen him write anything that is unprofessional about floyd in one of his articles.
all fans of all athletes/teams everything do the same shit. this has been occuring since the days of gladiators in rome. fans will hype their fighter/teams up and be obnoxious about it. floyd's fans should not make a sports writer hate him, i mean wtf are u writing about him 4 if u think ppl aint gonna write shit back, even if its obnoxious. dougie just hates floyd. and thats cool n all, but call it wat it is, dnt bullshit.
:lol1: I can respect that you acknowledge that. And now that you mentioned it, I'm no different. When I don't like a fighter it makes their fans more annoying to me. Cesar Chavez jr comes to mind.
That's what makes us fans.. of boxing.. of fighters.
The question posed is what do Mayweather fans do that is annoying? That's what I addressed. The points about Klitschko, Pacquiao, etc. may be equally as valid, but that wasn't the topic of this thread. No doubt that every major fighter has some obnoxious fans. B]For me personally, the Mayweather ones bother me more. Then again I'm not claiming to be totally unbiased either.FONT]

Doug must read these forums alot :lol1:
How is this any different from many Pacquiao or Klitschko fans that do the exact same things that you don't like or listed here? "Pacquiao is P4P the best in history" "Klitschkos hit twice as hard as Foreman and would destroy Ali". What I find amazing is when people single out Mayweather fans as if they're blind or oblivious to what I see here on on youtube/NSB and anything else boxing related on the internet. The bottom line is all fans are annoying when they love the fighter and not the sport.

I heard much worst statements/opinions from Floyd fanboys berrating anybody who's on Floyd's path. So, why is it a big deal for a sport journalist to voice out his own opinion.

Bro it's funny how I've asked everyone in this thread that agrees with Doug this simple question. "What is it that Floyd fans do that make you want him to lose?"
And still to this very minute I haven't got one reply. It just shows that Doug Fischer's statement has no substance... how this guy can be a journalist, I don't know!?!

Doug Fischer? ever heard of PROFESSIONALISM!
these are the type of writers and "so called experts" I can't stand because they take stuff so personal and they judge boxers based on things OUTSIDE OF THE RING instead of just judging and basing everything they do INSIDE OF THE RING
then as others mention when he is in Mayweather's face he is kissing ass and pretending like he is a fan like most of these LAME boxing reporters
dude is a dolt, seriously man there was always something about his face I can't stand and I'm not the kind of person to feel like that about anyone for no reason but something about his face makes me dislike him. he says he wants Mayweather, the fighter, to lose all because of what idiots are saying about him? how much love do you really have for the fighters who make this sport then? seriously this guy needs to just put aside what his fans say, Floyd is a great fighter and I would like to see his greatness and live threw not wish him failure and to be declined as one of the bunch. we need more Boxing fans and less journalists reporting our sports news..
I'm a Floyd fan too but let me ask you, what is it that "the fans" Doug describe do to annoy him so much to the point that he spills hate continuously for FMJ?
Good point. Floyd's fans write letters and opinions just like Fisher. I guess, in Doug Fisher's limited mind, his opinions are important while the opinion of anyone who disagrees with him is useless. What a dork!
