When will Chad Dawson Get His Proper Respect?

dawson is already a top 5 p4p on anyone's list with half a brain.

He's definitely one of the best right now, he's underappreciated maybe because he just don't have a crowd pleasing style like Dirrell for example. Other thing against him is that his wins has been downplayed because Johnson and Tarver were old and yes, they weren't on their prime but he just make them look older. He should go down and beat Bute.

Just stay active and continue to win big fights. Casuals expect him to kill every opponent they put in front of him, but not all fighters do that, obviously.

If Cloud ends up beating up Glen Johnson (and I mean beat him up, not outpoint him) then Dawson's stock should drop in my opinion because despite the fact that he beat Johnson both times, Johnson didn't have a welt on his face. And we are gonna get a look at how Cloud will do against a real opponent a week before Dawson even fights Pascal.

Who is it that disrespects him? He just needs to keep doing what he's doing which is fight the guys they put in front of him and beat them. Just because some people don't think he isn't beatable doesn't mean they don't respect him.

I think inactivity is his biggest drawback. He just can't sit around and wait for big fights. Stay busy, keep winning and they will come. What he said. It sucks he can't seem to land any eye popping matchups right now but the best way to remain relevant is to remain active and take on whoever he can get. He may not be the most exciting fighter in the world right now but I have mad respect for Dawson's skill and mastery of his style. If he keeps winning he'll eventually get what he wants.

The boring ass Tarver fights took some wind out of his sails, but he's still the man at light heavy.

I really want to see him fight Cloud and Campillo at 175. Right now cloud hasnt a chance. I think he'll get past johnson in a close one cuz they'll be bangin it out but If he fights chad after that that'll kill his momentum.I feel Cloud has to prove his worth. As far as Campillo I gotta do some research

He should fight more often if he wants wider respect. But I've rarely heard anyone who follows the sport talk down on his skill and technique (which I feel are excellent), so he does get the respect he deserves in my mind. He's not the kind of person that would want to be a showman anyway, just wants to do well enough in the sport and retire young anyway. From what I've read he's not interested in wide acclaim and notierity, he's more of a family man. As far as him fighting more thats his mgmt/promoters fault. As far as respect I mean p4p wise.These dudes going crazy over ward saying he should be on p4p list and dirrell when they're just getting started @ 168. After he schools Pascal(if he can take Adamek's punch he can take Pascal's) I expect Chad to be # 3 or #4 on the p4p list

Chad is the man, IMO a clearly top 5 fighter in the World.

Fight Roy Jones. Then he can call himself a legend killer and retire as an ATG.

I don't get the criticism either, he is among the best in the world across all weight classes and he has proven it.....you can see his talent and skills in the ring they speak for themselves. His chin is suspect but I think he gets caught napping cuz he's so bored boxing circles around his comp
