I dont know how he did it but Floyd Mayweather Jr is the hottest attraction in boxing! It's really rare that a very technical boxer who primarily uses defense and intellect over an impressive array of combos, brute strength, or one punch ko power is in his position(Think Ali,SRR,SRL,Tyson,Pacquiao). He's barely in a competitive fight, I've never seen him cut and dont need more than one finger to count the times I've seen him down.Another a rarity in boxing. His ppv numbers are tops in the sport now(yes even higher than Pac man) but I dont care about how much money he generates the real question is WHY? Do people tune in in hopes that they get to witness his first L? Is it because some HATE or despise his outlandish, big mouth, bad guy image, bragging about all his material things and that would make the aforementioned(1st loss) much sweeter. The Purist love his ring generalship, timing, footwork and that shoulder roll that he's perfected...All Im saying is in like 5,10,20 yrs we're gonna wish there was another Floyd Mayweather jr..."take a good look, this is the last time you gonna see a bad guy like this"
Floyd's skills can't be denied, inside the ring he's amazing. But Floyd (TV/Media version) is a cunt.
But that's part of what makes him so good. He talks alot before the fights to make the fights bigger and then after the fight it's the real him. You can't hate him for that because he backs it up anyway. He gives respect to all of his opponents after the fights. This is what makes his fights interesting no matter who he is up against, He's always entertaining and interesting in and out of the ring. Some people can't wait to see him lose because they want to see how he would react, Not because they hate him. The people who claim to hate him are just really interested in him. It's not like that with other fighters...
Floyd mouth is more entertainning than his move inside the ring. You can be a one dimensional bun to Floyd but at the same time also extraordinary. Manny is easy work to Floyd but he could also kill Floyd in the ring.
Pre-DLH, Floyd Jr used to whine after his fights on why he doesnt get recognition for his fighting ability. I agreed and was a fan back then. Till he came out with his new persona talking mad sh!t, I hope he loses now. Just my IMHO.
When/if he ever loses, his PPV numbers will be never be as high.
Me and my little bro always watch mayweathers fights and the 24\7 his skill is unreal, rarely takes a god punch and those right hands that punish a basic jab are beautiful. Plus its funny to watch him talk ish on 24/7 lol yeah were black...
yeh the verbal attacks he gives his opponents makes me laugh too sometimes. floyd is one of the most gifted boxers of all time, though perhaps his resume isnt as good other atg's

Floyd's a great talent and definitely one of the best if not THE best of his era, but in time another fighter(s) will come and make their names relevant. I remember people talking about how nobody will be as defensively sound as Whitaker, then along comes Floyd. I think Floyd will be remembered as a great fighter and controversial entertainer. There's a shitload of kids right now who will either follow his footsteps or create their own brand. Every generation has at least that one crossover star (i.e. Floyd, Oscar, Jones, Leonard).
You're right! But....Sweet P wasnt the top attraction. And all those guys you mentioned that were crossovers had fan friendly styles. So im saying we wont have a defensive technician who gains the star power that floyd has
