They're not talking about it publicly, and there's always a chance it won't happen, but Top Rank and HBO PPV are looking at Dec. 4 as the date for a possible Antonio Margarito-Miguel Cotto rematch. Margarito, of course, still needs to be licensed in the United States. And, of course, if Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. doesn't happen, all bets are off because Margarito and Cotto could become opponents for Pacquiao's November fight.

Interesting....
However Arum will feed Cotto or Marg to Pac to continue to pad his record.
100% right...Arum is a real piece of shit and will continue to feed and pad, fabricate a legacy with inner promotion catch weight fights that have titles both real paper and created for the EVENT.
Cotto is gonna get his ass beat again if he takes this fight, I think Tony is a real piece of shit and should be banned, however i don't think he was loaded up against Cotto. he beat him down and honestly out boxed the man as well, Cotto looked better to me than i had ever seen him and Margarito took what he had to neutralized the rest and landed the more effective punches and made Cotto melt down...No way Cotto ever beats that man.
Where is all this Cotto support coming from? A while ago someone made a poll on a Cotto Margo rematch and it went something like 57% Marg and 43% Cotto.
At any rate, Im rooting for Cotto, and I do agree, I'd like to see another tune up. WAR COTTO.
Thats one good way of putting it.
But then, you have to think about the psychological aspect.
What happens in Cottos mind during the first 4 rounds when Margarito is eating everything Miguel has just as in the first fight? Its going to be quite a mind ****. Then, it continues to the 5th, 6th, and 7th rounds and Tony still feels nothing coming.
Man, I'm hyped about this matchup more so than Pac-Floyd. There are so many different angles to go through when discussing this rematch.
Can't wait.
On the other hand, you can look at it this way, Cotto feels he was cheated against Marg, Cotto will probably be coming in with rage and ready to seperate Marg's head from his shoulder. We might see Cotto with a KO on Marg if he is able to concentrate and listen to Steward, which by the way, has made some changes on Cotto's corner and Cotto looked much better on his last fight. This is going to be a good fight and all the boxing fans will be pumped up for it.:boxing:
IMO Cotto wins...and wins decisively. Steward will play a big role in this fight providing an effective strategy and sound technique. Margo will go down again.
Damn thats a long ways a way if it did happen.
I would love to see it though.
Not that this would ever happen, but could you imagine Pac May with Margs Cotto on the undercard. Never would happen but shit like what would be great.
But either way this fight won't come to fruition.
I bet if Chavez Jr. wins he will get to fight Cotto.
Margarito wins the rematch:
Margarito supporters: "See, he didn't cheat either time! He's just too much man for Cotto!"
Cotto supporters: "The beatings Cotto took have affected him too much, physically and mentally, especially the losses to Pacquiao and Margarito. He even took a lot of damage in some of his victories as well. Margarito cheated the first time."
Cotto wins the rematch:
Cotto supporters: "Margarito cheated the first time, he is worthless without his plaster".
Margarito supporters: "Margarito is already done from a long career of too much punishment to his body. Mosley finished what was left of him with a brutal beating".
The question of whether or not Margarito loaded his gloves the first time around and how much difference it made will NEVER be answered.
pretty much what will happen but i for one will give credit to margs if he can beat cotto again no excuses because both arent what they once were. i see cotto winning a ud or split dec with margs coming on late and making it close. i wouldnt be surprised if there is a 3rd fight

I don't support Margarito at all. **** his cheating ass. But if Cotto agrees - then all respect to him. And i hope he wins. I just think he needs one more fight under Steward then he's ready togo.
If Margarito loaded up in that fight, then we don't know if he would've won without them. Obviously getting hit with harder shots is going to affect you differently. Cotto's punch resistance and stamina isn't the greatest anyway, but whether or not Margarito loaded in this fight and how much effect it had remains a question mark.
I can't lie...I may dislike Margarito b/c of the wraps, but I'd love to see a rematch and sure as hell would not miss it.
to me its a can't miss fight period.
Anyone who thinks that PLASTER was what beat Cotto don't know anything about this sweet science. First of all, no one knows if MArgo was even plastered against Cotto or not. IT's only a speculation and it means nothing.
Margarito's punch resistance, granite chin, and his pressure was what beat Cotto, u idiots.
Cotto wasn't able to take as much as he dished out, simple as that.. That's why he lost.
