I've been reading the countless post about who deserves more money. The consensus seems to be that Floyd fans say PAC doesn't deserve 50%. They like to lay out figures about how much better Floyd fights have sold than Pac's. My answer to that is who gives a shit. Those numbers don't mean anything. I'm concerned about the numbers projecting forward. What is the common phrase attached to this fight. "It will be the biggest fight of all-time". Not of the decade or the past 50 years, but of all-time. The estimates are mind blowing. 3-4 million ppv buys, possible close to 5 million. That would be double the current highest selling fight of all-time(Oscar vs Floyd). How is that possible? Why could this fight not just break records, but shatter them into a million ****ing pieces? It's a simple answer people. The answer is the two men who will be fighting. Those numbers only become a reality if you have the #1A and #1B best and most popular fighters on the planet going at it. Only possible if one superstar and icon is standing across the ring from another superstar and icon. There is no other way. Floyd can't approach those numbers without Manny and Manny can't do it without Floyd. Floyd has been the A-side for his past 3 fights and the best he has done is 1.4 million. The best Manny has done is 1.2 million. These guys have a ceiling by themselves, but together they could be limitless. They are equal in importance, so they should be equal in reward. Quit disrespecting Manny Pacquiao. Give him his 50%!!!!!!!!!!
Well, what do we have here: in one corner a limited slugger on roid-rage with losses to the great names Singsurat, Torrecampo, Morales, and a career that bases on hype-job of a deluded fanbase.
In the other corner a legendary boxer whose personality and ring-generalship is bigger than life, with the epic record of 41-0, moving fans and haters.
Conclusion: a solid 60/40 for Money Mayweather.
PAC deserve 60% because he's the Fighter Of The Decade but since Mayweather is all crying about it I think 50/50 is fair.
on false pretense. you cant say he's got 7 titles in 7 different division because catchweight fights are not a division fight. he never should have gotten any belt. they like made up a belt. wake up. pacyow beat guys floyd beat first and literally shut out marquez who beat pacyow twice.
700k>1.4 million. mosley was never a ppv star and thats proven so the majority of the 1.4 is all little floyd.
that's weak.
oscar couldn't get to 2.4 w/o floyd, and vice-versa.......
that didn't entitle floyd to a 50-50 split with oscar.
pac-floyd can't find anyone else right now that would generate as much money. dlh still had the option of facing hatton to generate close to or even exceed 2.4 mil, no?

55%/45% winner gets 55% and loser the 45%...that will be a good starting pointThat 5% is a good enough incentive to win the fight.

Well, you pretty much summed it up. Now try explaining that to the......AHH never mind, you'll have better luck sucking water from a desert rock.
This post makes too much sense EXCEPT to the fanboys of the world who actually think they will make a percentage of the take.
it's just a matter of preference really. as a pacfan i don't really care if for example pac would agree that floyd would get a bigger share, say 52-48 or even 55-45. i am not getting any money out of it anyway, in fact i'll be shelling out my own money to watch the fight so they can have whatever sharing they want. all i want is for the fight to happen that's all.
i just don't understand why some floyd fans are more concerned about floyd not giving in to 50-50 sharing than for the fight to happen. so what if its 50-50? floyd will still earn the most money he can possibly earn his entire career. it wouldn't diminish anything about floyd and his reputation as a fighter. in fact it will even add more positive things to floyd.
That could cost a fighter $10 mil if they lose....Floyd definitly wont take that risk and wants a guarenteed amount win or lose
Whats the risk in an "easy fight"?
Of course not. How much was Floyd selling before the fight that would have warranted him a 50/50 split? Pac on the other hand.......
Exactly. How much has Pac sold to warrant 50/50 compared to Mayweather.

They are both the top draws in the game. 50/50 is more than fair. People are not paying to see one guy more than the other. They're paying to see both guys square off in the ring. Case closed.
Dude you are delusional. First, Mayweather and DLH did 2.1 million. Secondly, DLH (ppv king) would have never given Floyd a 50/50 split.

I want to see the fight happen as much as anyone. But please explain how 50-50 is not disrespecting Floyd? He is the bigger draw by far, right?
Oscar couldn't have gotten to 2.4 mil without Floyd correct? Oscar didn't approach those numbers without Floyd and Floyd didn't without Oscar(by a much greater degree). Did FMJ get anywhere near 50%?? NO! It didn't matter what he accomplished in the ring. It didn't matter how big it was projected to be. It didn't matter he was p4p. None of that mattered. What mattered was WHO WAS THE BIGGEST DRAW! That's the way that is and has been. So now, why should the normal way or gauging the fighters value be changed? Because its Pac? He and Hatton were comparable in popularity and yet, he didn't want to give 50% to Hatton.
Yes, they are of equal importance in the making of the fight. But their PPV historys show that its more likely that more people will tune in because of the name FMJ, than Manny Pacquiao. Not to mention that Floyd will be doing the LION SHARE of the promoting.
I just don't understand how u can see the disrespect for Pac, but u don't feel that changing the way that normal negotiations work, everyday, all over the world, isn't disrespectful to Floyd.
I want to get this fight done, but I can also understand Floyd wanting more. I'm sure he feels like "Why should I? When I was in that position, I had to accept a smaller percentage, so why shouldnt he? Who is Pacman, to ask for parody?" I do wish however, he would just give him the 50% to get the fight done, then take that extra 10% out of Pac's ass during the fight.

this a sensible argument that i can agree with. In order to make the fight of all-time.....they both need each other. However, 50-50 was offered before when it should have been offered and it was refused by Team Pacquiao. Now circumstances have changed and team pacquiao really can't make a statistical monetary argument as to why they should have parity at the negotiating table. it was bad business to reject the offer in the 1st place and take the Clottey fight after he just lost to cotto which you just conquered. in a sense, manny hurt his own worth and now he gon pay for it. making bad business decisions would and should cost you money. manny has now got to man up and eat that opportunity cost.
PAC deserve 60% because he's the Fighter Of The Decade but since Mayweather is all crying about it I think 50/50 is fair.
No he doesn't. They both deserve 50/50 for what they bring to the table. they are each half of an equations that results in the biggest fight ever. That is what the original poster indicates and I agree with that completely.
Saying pac deserves more because he's fighter of the decade (by popular vote) means nothing in contrast to the magnitude of this fight. Same goes for floyd and using past PPV records.
This fight...this matchup dictates the value of this fight and matchup...not anything from the past.
That includes accolades and ppv numbers.
That could cost a fighter $10 mil if they lose....Floyd definitly wont take that risk and wants a guarenteed amount win or lose
then he should have no complaints about 50-50, but ofc we are dealing with manny and floyd here - two egotistical morons.
winner gets larger split - thats how every important fight should be split.

Yes i think so too, they should think about how much money is brought in because of them being in the ring together....
look at it this way, it is suppose to do more then 3 mil buys. Add Floyds biggest PPV with Pacs biggest PPV and you get 1.4 + 1.25= 2.65 mil Buys. So it would show that together produce huge numbers not because 1 fighter is a huge attraction but because both together are huge and pretty much equal
