Mayweather Sr: Dont ever put Jr. with a Southpaw

I have been pointing out the southpaw avoidence by Mayweather for years, There is alot more acceptance of this now but some still don't realize how apparent it is. When Mayweather first beat Corrales, HBO wanted him to unify against Joel Casamayor. Mayweather refused to fight Casamayor. I started to wonder why and looked at his record to see how he did against southpaws. He only had fought one and that guy was 0-7. Later when Mayweather beat Castillo for the WBC Lightweight title, Stevie Johnston was the #1 contender and Mayweather refused to fight him and made Johnston fight former featherweight champ Alejandro Gonzalez to see who fights Mayweather next. Johnston won but Mayweather would not fight him. Johnston sat for over a year and eventually had to fight another elim. one year and five months later. Johnston never got to fight Mayweather. It was obvious to me that Mayweather prefered only fighting the orthodox stance. He did fight a few later in his career, Judah, who was coming off a loss to Baldomir, Corley who was coming off a loss to Judah and Sharmba Mitchell who two fights earlier was destroyed in three by Tszyu. Many of my friends and I have discussed this for weeks and I explained these simple facts: Mayweather in his career has faced 4 southpaws, while other champs like Hopkins and Jones Jr. have faced around 10 each in title bouts alone. I have been quoted on these facts many times. How can a fighter like Paul Spadafora own Mayweather in sparring while Mayweather is so much better? The answer is styles make fights. So much so Zab Judah can give Mayweather fits til he ran out of gas. But Baldomir can't win a round with Mayweather, the same Baldomir that whipped Judah right before he fought Floyd. The reason styles make fights and Mayweather lacks the experiance to handle the southpaw style. It is the cost of avoiding the southpaw stance. It is the reason the Pacquiao fight probably won't happen and it is the reason Paul Williams is a middleweight. Did spadafora really owned mayweather in sparring? If it is true then, i don't blame the mayweather's for ducking pac again. It was a smart move that they should keep floyd away from pac to protect his undefeated record.... you are so funny....I love reading your BS. Thats odd. He beat the shit out of every southpaw hes ever faced. Not Reggie Sanders... no one even tried to snake that bull by the horns. Other than that, for sure. Corley and Judah landed ONE good shot, which is more than all Mayweather opponents, minus Castillo and De La Hoya landed, so I guess that fuels the debate.

Didn't he fight another southpaw who is much better than Corley, later on? :thinking: True, but he hasn't faced a southpaw with the attributes manny has. Manny also hasn't faced a fighter like mayweather either. Both manny and floyd have been dominant with their past several opponents. Which is why we need to see this fight..

What you don´t see is that PAC had trouble with JMM...LMFAO, imagine what PBF will do to him...wait and see...he can and will dominate once he adjusts. it's always end up in marquez. I mean c'mon guys that was like many years ago and if there was a boxer who tremendously improve over time it has to be Pac. Plus Pac feels that the WW division is perfect for him. No more weight draining during training and he can eat his regular meal. As for Floyd he has always been like that slick and a good counter puncher but lacks the aggressiveness of Marquez (junior lightweight) counter punching style. 1-2 punch is not enough to deter Manny. It may slow down boxers who lacks stamina in later rounds (like Mosley) but I assure you it will not be enough.

It's no secret already. Floyd gets hit way more when fighting southpaws and his daddy is scared for his son seeing what pac is capable of doing. You look at the corley fight how many times he was stunned and the judah fight. Pac will knock floyd out if they fight he will catch floyd with something during the course of the fight and jump on his ass. stunned in the judah fight? i only remember him being stunned like once ????

I was watching once again Mayweather vs.Corley fight and Larry Merchant just recall Floyd Mayweather Jr. suggesting to his son's team "Dont ever again match Floyd Jr. with a southpaw fighter" because he has the most trouble with them. If Maywather ever accept to fight Pacquiao he will need to put on his best performance to date because Pacman is the ultimate southpaw of all time. In this one I see a competitive match but at the end I see Pacquiao rising his hand in victory. Simply put, Mayweather dont have what it take to keep Pacquiao off him for 12 rounds and for the first time in his career he will face a man that believe he can take him out and have the tools to back it up. I love how the only boxing insight you remotely put in your post is that mayweather may not be able to keep pac off him, if you can call that insight.

What boxing experts have Pac as a Top 5 ATG? Hes not even close. 1. Ali 2. Louis 3. Robinson 4. Pep 5. Armstrong Who comes out for Pacquiao? Well to be fair, even though I disagree Roy and Steward have Pac top 5 ATG. And, Bert Sugar again even though I disagree has Pac as the greatest southpaw of all time I think.

Pac would lose to most of the lefties on that list I named. Hes good just not as good as his fan boys think. Hearns stops him in one round. Just out of curiosity, how many on that list of yours do you think Floyd would have beaten?
