Had some non-boxing fan friends over last night, and frankly I was embarrassed.

Ward showed great skill and dominated the fight from start to finish. Great fight in my opinion. If you don't appreciate what Ward does in the ring then don't watch the fight. It's really that simple.

At least their was a another fight on. Mayol-Omar was entertaining enough. You never know what your gonna get when you see Rodel, although it will probably involve a headbutt.

yes, boxers do what they need to do to win. it may not be exciting, but they get the win. but they need to realize that people are paying money to watch them and be entertained. at the end the day, boxing is still a sport and still entertainment. i hate hearing about "real" fans who appreciate the sport, "casual" fans aka "fake" fans. news flash. we are ALL fans. do you want a cookie for being a "real" fan? because in the end no one gives a shiiiit.

There arent many real boxing fans on this site. Every fight has to be Gatti-Ward for them to enjoy it. co-sign 100%. Burner is absolutely right and Dawson is the perfect example. He is widely derided on this forum, yet in my book he is elite. He shut Adamaek out for 11 rds, which is even more impressive when you examine what Adamek has done since at HW and also at cruiser when he beat Cunningham in close fight. We have people on this forum saying silly things about Dawson!!!!!

I'm one of the biggest boxing fans ever, and we had a dinner party last night that happened to be on the same night as the fight, so I had the fight on while my guests were here. They couldn't believe how bad the Ward/Green fight was. I don't think I've done this in a while, but I turned off the TV at round 6 it was so bad. I had no interest in watching the rest whatsoever. They just looked at me and said this is the worst thing I've ever seen. They don't hate boxing, but that fight didn't help. Thoughts? You should invite them to fights you are more sure will turn into barn burners. Like anytime Paul Williams fights a credible opponent (cept Kermit the Frog) there will be action because he will get hit and he will keep throwin non-stop. If Martinez and PWill rematch invite them to that one. Froch vs Abraham has the potential to be a brutal fight also.

They need to see some Pac fight.

It was a bad fight to pick to watch with non-boxing fans. I warned the person I was watching with that it would be the least exciting of the tournament by a long mile. I don't get though when people say they switched off after round 1 or round 6 etc. Was it really that bad to watch? I sat through it fine. And I normally have short attention span when it comes to TV. :lol1:

Ward's fights are always boring. His style is much more effective than they are exciting. And I say this with great respect for his obvious talents.

I appreciate Ward's talent but his fights have been snoozers, if he had that killer instinct or was any kind of finisher he could be a hall of fame fighter. But i dont know how much more I can watch his clinching fights. Allan Green didnt help at all either though.

The fight was kind of boring as it was clear what was going to happen but I sat through it, though I could see why I wouldn't if I had some people who weren't boxing fans. worst fight i have seen in a long time. holding all round, and green comes with his bs excuses.

I was pumpking up green HARD as he's a tulsa guy and we havent has a champ since TJ Wilson. what a let down!
