i find it funny how people assume ward will be to "tough" for dirrell

andre ward is a gifted athlete.you cannot count the allen green fight i hate the head first approch he used on the ropes with the holding. he sold himself short buy not trying to ko green.now i think he lacks killer instint.that style will not work on direll he will spin off ropes and throw counter's all night.so we will see the real andre direll boxing catching him off balance.but he needs the right ref that wont allow ward to use his head to position his opponent.

I think Dirrell learned alot from the Froch fight as far as fighting dirty so i don't see it playing a huge role. Ward's dirty tactics will play a factor though but if Dirrell can deal with it, i think he will win. Both fighters are excellent speedy boxers but i see Dirrell getting the better of Ward because Ward is open when he jumps in with his attack and i think Dirrell can take advantage. It will be a seriously close fight though.

i've never seen dirrell inside so who knows, he might surprise us. but i'd rather see dirrell use the ring than try to beat ward at his own game. i can't stand another fight like last night. It was awful. But I do rate Ward - he never lost a second of that fight, or much of the Kessler fight. He'll become a draw eventually simply because nobody will beat him. The issue I have with Dirrell comes again back to the Froch fight. Froch tossed Dirrell around like a rag doll. Ward seems very physically strong to. I think the clinchy Ward would upset Dirrell.

ward has fought two guys that were scared of the speed dirrell himself is very quick and will not be bemused by ward's speed headbutts could be an issue with the southpaw vs orthodox stances and the way ward jumps in dirrell stands more chance of beating him than anyone in the tournament i be interested in what froch or abraham could do also if they get a chance to fight him will he be fighting in his hometown again what's with that? The 2 promters have been arguing a bit over where it will be. I fully expect Ward to fight in Dirrels backyeard though. Hes guaranteed to be in the semis, and if he fights Dirrel at home then they'll try to make him fight the semi away from home. If he fights Dirrel in Dirrels backyard (and wins) then he can say his last fight was away, and as tournament leader he should get his next fight at home.

It's not just the Froch fight, or I wouldn't be saying it. Dirrell has shown that he is an ugly fighter when things get uncomfortable. It happened against Froch, it happened when Abraham turned the heat up( and no I'm not talking about the illegal punch, that was definitely legit), he fought scared against Curtis Stevens, and you can damn sure guarantee Ward is going to make things uncomfortable for Dirrell. lol, funny that you ignore my comment on "fear your punch" and carry on to make post like your refuting my comment but are only agreeing with it :dunno: your also trying hard now, dirrell was in no way fighting scared against abraham, he was moving and sticking, what do you expect? a brawl? alot of times he didn't even go anywhere, he'd just sit on the ropes and avoid abrahams punches with his hands down, that's how comfortable he was in there i think he's matured enough after the froch fight that he felt confident in his chin, after taking two(three? froch landed few but there were some flush hard ones) big shots and not being phased

Ward got a gold medal in 178 while Dirrell got a bronze in 165 , and Ward is even younger so you can't blame it on Dirrell being less matured. Ward's recent win against Alan Green only solidifies it , but he never really beat Kessler as the fight was ended as a result of a headbutt , should not count as a win. who did ward even fight in the olympics? dirrell was the one fighting all the prospects

Froch isn't dirty in the way Andre Ward is dirty. Andre Wards dirtyness, much like Bernard Hopkins, is heavily incorporated into his actual fighting style. Froch's dirtiness is just a "hey **** you" or "come fight pussy" dirtiness. Nothing disguised about it.

despite dirrell having fought froch and abraham, who are probabley twice as strong as ward, and very dirty, esspecially froch and have iron chins so they are not only rougher than ward, they are also twice as tough it seems that everywhere dirrell goes, a fighter will beat him(froch, abraham, ward) because they are simply too "tough" ward woops dirrells ass froch is overrated, get over it
