Dirrell has that ridiculous jab, which he can switch at any time. He has great movement. And also he is very athletic and as young as Ward or younger. Mark my words whenever Ward tries to bully or get inside he will be eating some very fast straight punches!!!!!!!!!
It's going to be a very boring fight most likely, but it will definitely be intriguing. Ward will probably fight really dirty to throw Dirrell off, and I think it will work.
Ward by decision.
The Dirrell that showed against AA has a good shot at Ward. If the guy that fought Froch shows up it will be another shut-out win for Ward.
Dirrell has the speed and power to bother Ward but I don't know how he will react if Ward takes the fight to the inside as he did against Green. Can Dirrell cope with that?
I think the Froch fight was a learning experience for Dirrell, he matured as a fighter after that fight IMO and I think the experience against Froch would really benefit Dirrell against Ward because Froch really roughed Dirrell up in there, Dirrell should have learned from that and be able to neutralize whatever rough stuff Ward tries to do.
It's an interesting fight.
Yeah, Oakland would be wrong, for Ward to have home advantage for every fight is just unjustifiable. I'm sure if Detroit isn't an option, then New York would be a good location. I'm sure a turn-out would be more pro-Dirrell on the East Coast so MSG sounds good.
Yeah. So much easier to find a neutral ground when the fight is between two yanks.
Do you have any info regarding venue for Froch-AA? I'm seriously planning on going if it's in Europe.
I agree.
I think venue could determine the outcome.

So am I to believe that you are calling Dirrell to be a challenge for Ward? Good call. Did you come up with that on your own? I would be more impressed if you went for the win, but to say he will give him trouble says nothing insightful at all. Sorry for the sarcasm, but this thread is seriously a joke.
Not sure who this post is aiming at, but if you're referring to me...then yes, i think Dirrell will beat Ward. I will be putting money down on this fight too.
The Dirrell that fought Froch was a green contender, with no big fight experience, taking a step up in competition, title on the line in the holders backyard. Odds were stacked against him, plus going in with a puncher with a solid chin, a little confidence was lacked. That fight showed his coming of age. The latter rounds you could see a more confident Dirrell who gave more to Froch then he got in return (you could say that about the whole fight)
The Abraham fight continued this confidence, and i was impressed with him, especially considering again he was the underdog, going in with a huge puncher with a solid chin, and a fantastic defence. Before the controversial ending, Dirrell showed his capabilities against a dangerous opponent.
Against Ward, Dirrell is facing a complete different challenge. Ward seems to have shown more versatality and adjustments to his craft to break down his oppositions game, but Dirrell will be heading in as an underdog again, with the skill, speed and athletic ability to cause an upset. I'm rooting for Dirrell in this fight.

Dirrell will definitely give Ward some trouble, he's faster and rangier than Ward and showed against Abraham that he can box a disciplined fight so I give him a good chance of sprining an upset really. He also seemed to have the right gameplan in mind when he was talking to Jim Gray during the telecast.

I have Dirrell winning the whole thing too. Dirrell's style will completely smother Ward's, Ward will try to come in but Dirrell will give him either a jab or a straight right.
I will bet all my points (which is not much, but will be more by September) that Andre Dirrell hands Ward his first loss.
I was very impressed with Dirrell against Abraham, i like Ward too, its just a shame he has to face Dirrell
I think hell be even more confident against Ward. Ward isnt close to the kind of puncher Froch or Abraham is, Hell have less to worry about when standing infront of ward. That could result in a really agressive Dirrell which owuld give Wards huge problmes. Ward and Dirrell have put on the best proformances thus far, Dirrells was more impressive imo because he did it against the guy who was the clear favorite. Cant wait to see the fight.
he looked more confident against Abraham, i mean he was opening up and whooping him early, and if he wasnt scared of abraham he needent be against ward.
I didn't see the confidence level late in the fight against AA. I saw him being nervous and panic late in the fight. Slippin all over the place. Late in the fight he got in his panic mood when AA was coming on strong. And, Ward would not give up the early rounds like AA did.
Dirrell has the tools and talent to beat Ward. But, not the mentality to beat Ward. And, that is the reason I don't see Dirrell beating Ward.
Ward wont be able to smother Dirrell as he did green and if he does manage to get forehead in his chest against the ropes, ward great latterall movement will set him free and set up Dirrell to punch. In essence he has the tools to use Wards bull rushing tatics against him. Also he has the much better jab of the two and I believe more power. If ward tries to fight him as he fought Kesseler then I see Dirrell contorling the fight with his jab and straight right.
I pick Dirrell to win the tournament before it even started, He has the tools to beat anyone in it.
I do, it'll be like Roy Jones vs James Toney
lol... no it would not... Come on lets not be silly....
Eirrell is too nervous of a fighter, he gets in his panic mode. Maybe if he was a s calm and collected, and confident and as focus as Ward. Then yea I could see it. But, he is not. For all Dirrell talent he is just to nervous of a fighter. His talent and attributes might Kind of be Roy-esque. But, his mentality and confidence level is not even close to Roy-esque...
