well most people think he will win the super-6 im a fan of him because he grew up in my town and i can tell you his not truely know among casual fans but they have heard of some fighter that grew up in the town.Do you guys think he will become a super/mega star in boxing?
I want Ward to win because I want him to be as good as advertised. Green doesn't bowl me over either. And I hope his excuse for the Miranda bout is true (then it wouldn't be an excuse, I guess) because that performance was terrible. But I'm not convinced with Ward yet. We'll see.
To Green credit he did get a surgeory after that fight. I expect Ward to win but this super six is something else. It has been exciting to watch with unexpected results. It keeps you guessing which is the best part and nobody is running away with the thing

I think besides Ward abilities one of his biggest assets is ring IQ. He sees everything that is going on and adjustes automatically. Not that a KO punch one reach him one day cause he has been down in the past against lesser fighters.
Like yourself I would have to see him against more top fighters to start viewing him as one of the elite's in boxing right now
I picked him or Abraham to win the Super Six before the Tournament and I still think it will be one of them, Ward toughest Challenge will be Green and Dirrell, I think he would beat Abraham and Froch via UD, so if he gets past Green on Saturday and Dirrell the next round then I think he will win it all
but Ward is a great guy and he gives GREAT interviews, he can be the next big Superstar in Boxing if he wins this Tournament
I dont think Green is that much of a threat, he does have good skills and KO power. Green in winning against Simms didn't look good and should had blown him away. Simm hasn't fought good competition and is out of his weight class and also hasn't fought in a while. Simms is a boxer by nature and Ward is bigger with a better set of skills and power. Green biggest fight was against lose against Miranda which he looked confused once the fight didn't go his way.
JDJ might help but I guess we will find out on fight night

Very dangerous fight for him on Saturday night. Very. Ward is still a mystery to me. While the Kessler win is impressive, Green has talent and a good corner in John David Jackson. I expect Ward to be tested. If and how he passes will say a lot about him.

I think he has a great skillset as ceilings said but I think he can be beat as can anyone. I like his movement and quickness but he tends to headbutt too much for me to say it is an accident.
Otherwise, he is better than 95% of all boxers in any division. I'm not even a huge fan of his but he is the goods
lol, compare PBF to him, PBF has no big power and does just fine
Ward is 21-0 with 13KO
Mayweather at 21-0 had 15KO
another stat is
Ward rounds boxed 115 KO% 61.9
Mayweather rounds boxed 299 KO% 60.98
I think Ward will do just fine, I am not saying he is the next PBF, but he is and will get better.
Now if ward had power like paulie malignaggi or yuri foreman, then , yeah I would agree with you 100%
Yes but PBF skills compare to none. There is one PBF every 5 Andre Wards. That said, Ward is a good fighter on his own.

Andre is pound for pound material and I think he will take over from mayweather in the future. He is so complete and very intelligent in the ring and I guess is a nightmare to anyone.
Learn to read homie, the comparison to PBF is only on punching power and both fighters at only 21 fights into their careers, nothing more, read qoute from alb829 below
i know what you're trying to say but my point is floyd was successful because of his skills more than his punching power. the same can't be said about ward (at least not yet) because i think his skill set hasn't been really tested. he had a couple of good wins and that's it. if he can get through green and dirrel then it's safe to say that even without too much power in his punches his skills can carry him through.
Andre ward not only has the physical tools to be one of the most elite fighters, but his skill is beyond his age, he makes mistakes like anyone his age would, but in many aspects he fights far beyond his age
I've been following him since he was in the ams. Very talented fighter. Skill set is impressive. I like his focus and dedication to his sport. As talented as he is, he still has things to work on, and I'm looking for him to get better with each fight. I'm looking for him to be more under controll in this fight yet still physical, smart and aggressive. I picked him to win the Super Six when it started and I'm confident in that pick. I've really been looking forward to this fight with Green. Should test him for sure.

that's inaccurate comparison. floyd's ko ratio spanned through multiple weight divisions and ward's level of competition is amateurish compared to floyd. take away kessler and miranda out of wards resume and you got a bunch of unknown fighters. not only that...floyd grabbed a title in each division he fought. if ward can dominate SMW, go up to LHW and get a title then maybe you can start talking about comparison.
he is one of my favorite active fighters... i just hope he aint chinny
He's very good at keeping his chin tucked and protecting it in general. I don't think he has a terrible chin but he definitely can be hurt and everyone in the super 6 + Bute can crack hard. I wouldn't be suprised to see him take a loss or two during his career via being KO'd but i don't think it'll be a real factor that gets exposed frequently throughout his career.
just my opinion.
Agreed. Did John David Jackson just come onboard for Green or has he always been there? I wonder if he'll make a difference in terms of training and strategy, as well as correcting flaws.
I think he's been with Green for a while, a few fights at least. Jackson is a good trainer so yeah, maybe we'll see an improved Allan Green for this fight.
Definitely, there are flaws there, he leaves himself square when he switches stances and drops his hands etc. I'm not sure if Green is the guy to really test him though, Green has good speed and very good power but I'm not sure if he's mentally good enough to test Ward, he got confused by Simms, and there have been other moments in the past where he's shown his frustration when he can't catch his opponents with his big shots.

Agreed - he's so focused. And a lot tougher than he looks and is given credit for. He roughed up Miranda and Kessler in successive bouts. But I still see some flaws. We'll see. I'd like to see him do well but I'm not throwing my eggs in his basket just yet.
