ive heard some pacquiao stans say he is :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:
Lets see:
2 Losses both brutal... to Margarito and Pacquiao
Best win is a close win over Shane Mosley (Floyd dominated him) and a beating of Zab Judah (Floyd already beat him) and barely beat Joshua Clottey, infact the second time I scored it I had Clottey winning compared to the first time where I had Cotto winning by a point.
Other than that he has wins over Paulie Malignaggi (A guy Amir Khan and Ricky Hatton dominated), Carlos Quintana (We know what happened after the Cotto fight), and Ricardo Torres (Who???)
So the simple question is, Hall of Famer or Not?
No way in hell that a kneel-er will ever be put in the HOF. First of all it will destroy the integrity of the people who chooses the fighters to get elected to the elite group. :omfg:
that and also never was an undisputed champ he was the vacant champ at 147 and at 154 he beat Yuri foreman
Winning a lineal title means nothing if a fighter deserves to be in the HOF or not.
With that logic fighters like Langford, Burley, or Roy Jones Jr are not HOF'er since they NEVER won a lineal title.
What do you mean has never been the champ? He is a 3 divisional champ.
Now if you talking about lineal champ. Then OK I see your point. So is that what you saying? Lineal champ?
that and also never was an undisputed champ he was the vacant champ at 147 and at 154 he beat Yuri foreman
not right now but wins against a 144 pound marquez and carlos baldomir could change that in a hurry.
So he's going to drop 10 pounds to fight an fat Marquez? And then fight Carlos "That Guy Who Beat Judah..." Baldomir? Are you kidding? That's what gets him into the Hall? Get real bro.
That tends to happen when Mayweather knocks you out. Then if you really want to compare rebound fights, Hatton's comeback fight was against Lazcano in which the ref saved his ass from losing the fight by KO. Then he beats Malignaggi unimpressively, may I add, all to get blasted in 2 rounds by Manny. Oh and the biggest victory of his career was an old Kosta Tsyzu... hate to burst but your bubble but Hatton was never any good.
If you think Hatton came close to being KO'd by Lazcano and was unimpressive against Malignaggi? Then feel free to post vids/links as evidence to prove this. I'd like to see it.
Tsyzu was still P4P one of the best in boxing when Hatton beat him(P4P #2 or #3 i think?)
Losing to two of the best fighters of this era in Mayweather and Pacquiao doesn't mean you ain't shit!
Every supposedly decent fighter Cotto beat at 140 either sucks as of now or is a gate keeper. He has never beaten an A level fighter without controversy. HOF he is not. IMO.
this...
come on man...yuri foreman? :nonono:
Has cotto EVER won a linear title?
he has always won the vacant title with the exception of yuri foreman.
and again ill say...yuri foreman????? :nonono:
How big is the lineal title to you? Is that your major factor for HOF creds? It is big but I'd take the Mosley win over a Baldomir win anytime. Svenn Ottke is a lineal champ and undefeated. Do you think his credentials is better than Cotto?
As for the question, 3 division champ. Also, level of opposition especially at WW is damn good win or lose. He'll get in. Maybe not the first time but eventually.

The biggest win in Cotto's career was an old Shane Molsey. Tszyu was the king at 140 when Hatton beat him.
Hatton wasn't on Paquioa's level, but to say he wasn't a test for Pacquiao at that time when Hatton was the man at 140(Lineal champ for a good number or years) and 'wasn't shit', is an idiotic thing to say.
Ricky Hatton gets shitted on way too much on here.

Yeah, I guess I do.
I don't think Castillo is first ballot material, but he was a GREAT fighter and I really feel he's a Hall of Famer for sure.
Corrales should take a while, but he should get it, half on boxing ability and half on his popularity. Also, how can you deny half of the fight of the decade?
And Gatti...I just want him to make it. I loved Gatti. What a heart he had. That's just me nuthugging him and probably upping him too much after his death.
hey I can see that. Great post.
definately a HOF'er
only people that i notice saying no are avid Cotto haters.. not suprising.. I wouldnt say 1st ballot but he will definately be there one day..
I don't consider myself a Cotto hater. I wouldn't vote for him. But, i think at best is that he is borderline HOF'er that could get in someday but will take awhile.
Castillo definitely is not a HOF'er. He is not first ballot material.
Corrales shouldn't be either. Especially first ballot. If he does get in it should take a long time for him to get in.
Gatti? No...
At best they're borderlines just like Cotto.
People have low criteria when it comes to HOF I see.

This is just straight up noob posting.
