HBO Sports just announced that the 3.9 rating it received for Miguel Cotto's victory over Yuri Foreman for the WBA super welterweight title Saturday night at Yankee Stadium was the network's highest-rated boxing main event this year. The live telecast plus the Sunday morning replay was watched by about 1.9 million viewers.
Just as HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg and promoter Bob Arum hoped,...

no duh it got high ratings, it was FREE. if cotto was such a draw it wouldve been PPV
So what you are saying is that the fight would had been better if it was on PPV. Don't remember the fight being on free TV unless HBO has a free inlet. Maybe you are one of those guys that gets the live feed out of the internet
Meyn, that post is uncalled for. I know a couple of them have HBO.
I can see this account not lasting much longer. He's a racist troll.

Iceta hates Cotto, the whole forum knows that...Glad he rained on your parade!
Most puerto ricans cant afford HBO, so it had to be someone else watching it

This is the highest rating for an HBO boxing show since DLH-Forbes in 2008.
LMAO
Why do you just make shit up?
Anyone know what the live rating was without the Sunday replay?
1.9 million was not live it included the replay, I would like to know what the live rating was.
That's good to hear. The atmosphere looked incredible. I wish I was there. Cotto is definitely a draw. With all the big fights he's been through along with everything else, people are very interested to see him fight. Not to mention, he's one of the most respectable fighters in the sport. I'm curious to see what further improvements he will make. I think he should take one more easier fight before jumping back into the fire. One more to build his confidence and work with Steward some more. This fight will most certainly help him regain some of that confidence, and it was a very good night for boxing. WAR COTTO!!!!!!!!!!!

HBO is a monthly service you pay for (unless of course you're still living with Mom and Dad where you don't need to look at your cable bill :guilty:)
