Strategy:Manny beats Floyd if he can do these things.

i think mayweather can take it..mayweather is very fast for the weight he comes in at and he is a boxing genius plus when he finds his rythm u can kiss the fight goodbye if your his opponent....but dont get me wrong pacquiao is very awkward, fast, and his angle usuage is insane...but he does leave himself very open and leaves chances to get caught off guard or countered when he starts to flurry and marquez showed that...marquez would start to back up while pac chased him with his flurries then mid flurry marquez would all of a sudden stop and stand his ground and tag him it worked everytime and then worked for whoever tried it too bad noone stuck with it like marquez..but you have to time it right..and i think mayweather has better timing ability than marquez so....and btw i do not like mayweather or pacquiao..but i do respect them and their superior boxing abilities...

The fights going to be made, no doubts about that. Floyd hears the pressure to fight Pacquiao every waking moment and he won't be able to ignore it for 2 years, so with that aside let's talk boxing. The first thing is the jab and lead left hands. Mannys gonna have to move around Floyd all night and alternate leading with his right and left so Floyd won't be able counter him so easily. The next thing is to throw fast flashy combinations from different angles. Something like shoeshine. Get in throw some threes and fours and spin out before the counter shots come. The footwork is going to be very important here. Pac will have to be faster on his feet than Mayweather for 12 rounds and not get stuck in any one rhythm, because Floyd will adjust to a predictable bouncy tempo. Manny will also have to stay away from the inside because Floyd is an expert at countering in close range. The body attack won't be there for Manny very often, so he's gonna have to focus on being effective from the outside. The most important thing is don't be predictable. Mayweather is too smart for even 3 gameplans. You have to come into the ring and be as fluid as he is. Throw some crazy shit into the mix, maybe hit him low just to try and rattle his flow, double punch like the one on Clottey just to see if you can piss him off. Don't even dream of Manny knocking Mayweather out though. He's too cautious to ever be knocked out in a fight, at least at welterweight that is. It will take a flush Junior Middleweight shot to knock him over and the man rarely gets hit flush. Mosley got to him with looping right hands, but Manny doesn't loop his power shots that way, nor does he throw from the same angles as Mosley. This will be a test of Manny's athleticism, boxing IQ and overall skill-set. If he's a better athlete than Floyd he can pull this thing out, but that's a really big if. You'd have to really believe in Freddie Roach when he says that Mayweather lost his legs. If Mayweather has lost his foot speed and Manny works the plan he can take the fight on a Majority Decision alll pac needs to do is stay busy and outwork floyd. if he does that he beats floyd by decision. if he does all the stuff you say he will dominate floyd.

Floyd needs to go ahead and make this fight because it's an easy fight for him to be honest. The first man who beats Mayweather will posess physical gifts that he doesn't(reach, height, speed, power and fresh legs), and that's not Manny. Manny isn't getting younger himself btw. In my original post I said Manny can win if Floyd has lost a step, but after watching the Clottey fight again I would argue that Manny has lost a step too.

in and out, side to side, combinations, speed, floyd will be overwhelmed and possibly stopped.

wow an actual May / Pac thread that's about boxing !! one thing I think Roach needs to take care of is the mind games Floyd will play both in and out of the ring.... Manny can follow a gameplan but when he gets mad he goes straight back to the fighter he always has been - lashing out with those vicious combos of his.... Floyd has already got under his skin but Manny really needs to stay focused for this one... his camp have a tendency to do a lot through the media with press releases coming every 5 minutes on how well he is doing in training.... this needs to stop for this fight.... Manny needs to go Rocky 4 style and shut himself off from the outside world as much as possible until the fight..... i have never been a huge fan of big entourages as i think they ultimately distract the fighter.... if i had to bet money i would bet early money on pacquiao as he may just be able to hurt floyd enough to finish him in the early rounds before he can adjust..... but if Manny hasnt dun the business by round 5 then Floyd will switch up gears leading to a UD or possibly late KO if he's eating too many counters..... one thing i will say is that somehow Manny ALWAYS lands that left..... its one helluva weapon

Mosley realised he couldn't catch Floyd consistently and began looking for that one shot, which as Naazim said wouldn't come. Floyd's counters meant that Shane was scared to commit enough to landing that shot, whereas I can see Manny not caring and thus going all out. The most probable way of KOing Mayweather is to hit him with a flurry of hard shots so he may just decide to take the risk and it could end in one of them getting KO'd.

AFAIK the only time Pac didn't follow Roach's gameplan was at the Cotto match, with Pac saying he wanted to feel Cotto's power(?) and had himself hang out at the ropes, good thing for them it worked out. If he gets into the mindset that he has to try and be cautious and look for openings for that one shot, as most of Mayweather's opponents have been forced to do, then its over for him. He needs to try and throw multiple shots and force Mayweather to make mistakes or pressure Floyd into having to go all out to win rounds. I am intrigued as to how Roach plans on having Manny fight Mayweather. Only way I see Pac winning is if Floyd fights like he did against Shane and he catches Floyd or Floyd is too slow to get off in between Pac coming in and out... So many factors in this fight...main thing to me is how Floyd approaches the fight...Pac fights the same generally every fight...

I think Manny's bodyshots is what will win him this fight.

You said he shouldnt be predictable.......but he is predictable In-Out, In-Out, In-Out. If he fights Floyd he will get countered when he comes in, He can't outjab Floyd so to win he has to get inside and do damage. That's extremely difficult to do against a defensive genius. I see Pacquiao eating right hands all night if the fight happens. He just wouldnt have the tools to win, Not technical enough...
