if you were cotto's manager who would you fight next?

I would pick Chavez because Cotto needs some easy fights, as he has been in tough wars for a long time now. Chavez would make financial sense also, and would be a good pay day, as well as exposure for Cotto. I would pick chavez I agree with you up until the last sentence no way Chavez beats Cotto. I think Angulo would be a good option also but that is a dangerous fight for Cotto but one he could possibly win and if he won it would go a long ways toward erasing the ghosts of Margarito (since people like to compare Angulo and Margarito). If Cotto wnated to do somethign big in Puerto Rico then Cintron would be ok, but I would expect Cotto to look impressive.

For him it would be a smart move to fight Berto. He already beat Shane who is a better Berto.

I'm happy for Cotto and all, but I don't know about him staying at 154 and rumbling with the elite at the weight class. Angulo hits like a freight truck...Martinez is a busy, slick southpaw and Williams...his reach is insane. To be honest, I'd think he'd do slightly better against Williams than Martinez, but only because I think Martinez has a better chin than Williams.

He's at a point in his career where he wants money and he needs to seal his legacy. Berto is a good fight...taking a young lion's 0 would be very good and HBO would put up a lot of money for that fight. The reward of a Martinez fight is huge and it's a winnable fight in my opinion. I think Martinez would win, but it's the type of fight that is worth the risk because going out as a 4 weight champ and beating the lineal MW champ of the world after most people think you're shot is a great way to go out. I would not put Cotto in the ring with Williams or Margarito. Both are stylistic nightmares for Cotto and he doesn't gain much with a win. Well, redemption over Cotto/Margs 1 would be nice, but again, wraps or not I think it's a horrible match up.
