How is Margarito not a mandatory if he's ranked number one by the WBA? His ranking implies that he's the mandatory challenger for the title. If he doesn't agree to defend against the number one ranked challenger, he must either vacate or he'll be stripped of the title. Being ranked no 1 doesnt make you a mandatory challenger because Cotto has a voluntary defence.Besides where will the fight take place?IF Cotto is asked to make a defence within 90 days and Margarito who is suspended indefinitely doesnt get licenced what happens.Is Cotto obligated to fight in Mexico?

Pac beats Cotto 10 times out of 10 at 147.. I agree this is a VERY bad fight for Cotto.

The WBA enforcing a mandatory is like TS making a thread that doesn't involve the same 4 fighters (Cotto, Pac, Marg, and Floyd) Rarely Happens.

Link or I call bullshit? Cotto already said he's not fighting Margacheato. Originally he said that but in the last couple months he has mentioned margarito and/or pac rematch as a option. $$$ Talks and arum would make him a nice offer to fight Marg either way Arum wins.

Puerto Rico is U.S. territory so he cant fight here either.I think Cotto will eventually fight him but not anytime soon.I actually believe Cotto wants to fight him to finish his career with an exclamation!I think Cotto will retire in 2011 and Margacheato will be his last fight!

As a Cotto fan. I want this fight to happen, but I think right now Cotto has the option to fight whoever he feels like it. He dominated Yuri... I'd like to see a Yuri rematch, Yuri deserves it given the circumstances. He didn't really "dominate" Yuri until after the knee injury. Then if he beats Yuri in a rematch I'd like to see the rematch with Margarito and I think Puerto Rico would be a fitting place to hold the fight.

Link or I call bullshit? Cotto already said he's not fighting Margacheato. There is no link, Margarito's license is still on indefinite suspension. He was not allowed to apply for a license for one year (In California) after he got suspended. He can now apply, but he's not going to get one now. Usually states follow each others backs on suspensions.

It's not that Margarito can't fight in the U.S. because he's on INDEFINITE SUSPENSION.
