Cotto-Martinez Anyone?

I believe this fight makes sense in many ways. The styles make this fight very competitive. We can see in this fight that Cotto has his balance back and that jab is beautiful he does not look shot. Martinez is a crafty southpaw and his in and out style makes for exciting fight. Another thing to consider is that Sergio Martinez is 35 and that's old in boxing so he needs a big fight and with Cotto he can gain the recognition as a "name" fighter. Which will help him bag some big fights down the line (most notably Mayweather or Pacquiao) I doubt Pacquiao though. If Cotto beats Martinez Cotto will only make his name better and the demand for a big money fight Mayweather or Pacquiso rematch. So this fight is win-win but a loss will affect Martinez more than Cotto considering Cotto is a bigger name. What do you guys think?

Nah we aren't ready for this YET. We need need Cotto/Pacquiao or Margarito II. And we need Martinez-Williams II. This will be a terrific fight but it should come later on down the road. I also see Martinez winning this by UD.

Yep! We should hype this fight up... Floyd and Manny is taking way too long. At least if this fight goes under negotiations, it'll be finalized before we know it.

This fight should happen. Style wise, it's one of the few fights at the higher weights that Cotto can win. I LOVE Sergio Martinez. I think he's boss. However, with what he brings to the table(and that's quite a lot), I think he's the kind of guy Cotto has a chance against because of his passiveness. Angulo, Williams, Kirkland, Pavlik.....all guys I think walk Cotto down. Martinez, Cotto has a chance at dictating the pace and fighting his fight against. He doesn't have the speed or workrate that generally gives Cotto huge problems. For clarification: I think Martinez would beat Cotto...probably stop him. However, with his style, I think Cotto has a chance.
