I want to hear plausible scenarios for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Emmanuel Paquiao bout. How do PBF fans see him pulling off a victory and how do Pac fans see him pulling off the upset. Remember each fighters advantages and strengths and envision a "perfect storm" for either fighter. Please refrain from flaming and being immature. Kiddie language like "flomo", :argue:"pactard","gayweather" etc are not welcome. Hopefully all the children are at school and only the adults are signed on.
I can see Mayweather countering Manny all night with those lightning right hand leads. Since Manny often jumps in recklessly the impact will be even worse. I think those will really slow him down, and if Manny tries to take a step back and look for openings he will likely lose on points as his work rate will fall rapidly. If Manny can effectively use his work rate, even if he doesn't land much, he could win a decision if he's evasive enough to avoid eating eye-catching shots to draw the judges' attention. Floyd also drops his left when he throws the right hand so there will be an opening for Manny's right hook there if he is quick enough to capitalize.
For me the most important punch had always been the jab to the body, Pac can move his head all he wants to get inside and jump in with crazy punches but due to Mays huge arm length he will just be running onto Floyds stiff arm into his gut... i believe depending on the distance and positioning of Manny after this punch May will either look to throw a looping right to the head, clinch or step back and counter.
left hook to the head and to the body is kryptonite against southpaws.

There's a slight moment. when Mayweather sticks his head out like a "dinosaur" when he leads with his left hook, which is how a "friend" of mine likes to put it ;).
Yep I think your right but you still need good reach and timing to take advantage.
I really cant figure out how he got tagged by Shane. I believe that the way he has been in his last two fights are permanent natural changes to his style. Im not saying that he can't move in the ring like he did during the 130lber days, but if he has to make this type of adjustment it will not be as easy.

Shane has longer reach and fast hands, that's how he caught Floyd. PBF adjusted and he didn't just like SSM said.
Floyd can be aggressive when he wants to. So far he has done exactly what he said he would do when he came back out of retirement. After a pac fight I just want to see him finally crush Cheatto for good then he can retire for good. Unless there are some other big money fights out there.

Trust me, this fight will be ugly and has the potential to be the greatest fight in history. Floyd has slowed down a bit, roach wasn't fukkin around when he said that. His last two fights were amazing and so rewarding for those who loves his style. He is basically forced to be more agressive in every way, but as you can see from the compubox, his stats are still out of the ordinary.
With that being said, these NATURAL adjustments he made may not benefit him when he fights pac. He is a brilliant boxer and will adjust, but it will be out of his comfort zone. Pac will be Pac for this fight. Who ever comes more prepared will prevail. Prepare to watch 12 rounds of Round 1.

Mayweather seems to have brought back his jab and mixes the high guard in there a bit more. One thing I always thought Floyd might capitalize on is when Manny does that little hand clap thing when he's been hit, like he did vs Mosley and does constantly on the break.
Pacquiao will have to try and overwhelm him with the angles. Maybe give away the first round and surprise Floyd in round 2 or 3 with some new intensity to throw him off, depends how confident Manny is. I think Pacquiao may have to focus more on single punches because Mayweather doesn't really get hit with combos. Unless the plan is to make Mayweather keep having to jump back avoiding punches, but then Mayweather is such a sharp counter puncher that he would punish Manny for coming in like that.
Its just cool having this discussion without all the usual idiots bickering
Agreed. Strategy is my favorite part of boxing.
It's going to be crazy though, best offense vs. the best defense. I've always dubbed this fight as
The Unstoppable Force vs. The Immovable Object.

Hey I added more to my post at the end.
Edit: That may be the trick Mayweather has, a southpaw version of his defense. I could be reaching though.
Take the fighter in my sig for example, Andrade; he isn't fast or has great defense but he's relentless volume puncher with a granite chin and a big heart.

I think PBF will have to use the high guard against pacquiao though. I haven't seen him use the shoulder roll vs southpaws. Against southpaws the shoulder roll from the normal position is open, unless Floyd goes southpaw as well. The way I see it PBF should shoot jabs and move around the center of the ring. Don't allow the shorter man to get within his firing range. If Floyd can do that he can win this thing easily.

Yeah, I meant Mayweather.
People need to realize why Mayweather is so accurate and effective with his style. Because of this, the amount of punches he lands start to have a quick effect on the opponent. His defensive style gives him the maximum amount of cushion to slip punches while still be in reach to counter his opponent. His shoulders absorb a lot of the damage that otherwise would land on his head if he didn't get away from.
The only way people got in was because they were fast punchers and had a sufficient arm length.
No matter what angle you throw his shoulder will be there to take it. Unless he switches up to the peek-a-boo then that's when Pacquiao's punch accuracy is a lot higher.

I assume your talking about PBF but I was hoping for some details. Like you always hear pac fans say pac will throw punches from "weird" angles and finish mayweather. Not realizing that pac isn't the only fighter to throw from unorthodox directions. Nor is he the only southpaw Mayweather has ever faced. Basically I was hoping for an intellectual more than one line reply.

This is a bad style match up for Pacquiao and most unbiased fans will agree with this. He is a volume puncher with speed, his footwork and stamina is what makes him a great fighter, because most volume punchers don't have too many fall back traits like speed. This is where is fault comes in, you know he's going to be in front of you but because of his quickness there's only a small window of opportunity for him to get hit. Mayweather's going to have to risk a lot in the opening rounds to figure out Pacquiao's patterns and habits.
Mayweather's chance's are high especially when Pacquiao's does his little prideful hand clap/arm raise when he gets hit flush to let his people know "he's okay". Mayweather's going to capitalize on this like how he did with Mosley's continuous talking/glove touching.
Same way he beats every fighter. Figures them out, neutralizes their offense and closes out the show.
