How Good Is Tavoris Cloud?

I like Cloud, he's exciting, has great determination and power. Sometimes he reminds me Jeff Lacy before his injury. He should beat Johnson because Glenn looked old to me when he fought Judah and Dawson in the rematch, but it would be a good fight. Now, he won't beat Dawson he will be outboxed.

Right, Dawson can certainly beat Cloud if he fights the right fight, but I'm not so sure he could do that for 12 entire rounds against a guy like Cloud who is even more relentless than Johnson. I really hope it happens, is the #1 fight i want to see at LH. Very interesting matchup based on styles. If Dawson had never had that first fight with Johnson I think Cloud would have a better chance, but he atleast appeared to learn from that fight the second go around. Dawson before the last fight with Johnson always looked inconsistent even if he was winning easily from minute to minute you never really knew what you were goign toget with him. In the last Jonhson fight he looked a lot more consistent and that kind of effort is what it takes to beat someone Cloud but if Dawson even shows light cracks a fighter like Cloud could capitilze on them. The fight should happean soon aslong as both men keep winning not like either has a bunch going on in terms of big name opposition.

He reminds me of james kirkland in ways, I think that's a good comparison. They both have that intensity about them in the ring and raw hunger and determination which are attributes that are often overlooked in boxing. Cloud needs to get in the damn ring though and fight more. Don King may end up ruining his career. totally agree.. could really end up being another Tim Witherspoon? (that was the guy right?)

Johnson vs Dawson I. I think that's why. That constant pressure Johnson put on Dawson was a problem and nearly sent him to the canvas a couple times there. like I said above, I think cloud is a better version of that Johnson. To me that was a poor fight by Dawson and he could have done a lot better had he fought his fight instead of getting drawn into Johnson's game. If Dawson's tries to make the fight exciting CLoud can win for that very reason, but Dawson should know better than to try something like that again.

Does everyone think that he would beat Pascal's ass or could you see him being outboxed?

i was wondering that myself. if u see the woods fight, to me, it's just straight forward all out high speed attack from round 1-12. so that means Chad Dawson might give him problems because of his boxing prowess. Hopkins.. would have trouble with the pressure, too old now. Calzaghe and Cloud.. damn.. that would be a good fight! the others, we'll have to see how they move up, although Dirrell and Ward will give him trouble with good boxing/side to side movement. Bute not too familiar with to judge at all. i could be wrong, but i think he's just a powerful boxer, that moves in straight lines and just bumrushes you with speed and power.

I became a huge fan when I saw his fight with Clinton Woods on FNF. Really impressive but he needs to be more active.

He is a fun guy to watch, I think he needs to fight more often but that is a double edged sword he will be sharper and therefore able to accomplish more the downside would be that he would get used up faster considering his punishing style. I still don't get why people think Cloud would be issue for Dawson, that always seemed like a bad match-up for a guy like Cloud unless Dawson fights in a way that allows Cloud to be in the fight.
