Cotto doesn't have much of a right hand. It's his left to the liver that really caved opponents in. Shane's right is so much stronger than Cotto's right. Not a good comparison here.
His right was pretty effective against Quintana and Judah, I guess mainly because they were southpaws. But I agree that Shane has a more explosive right hand, I also think Floyd had trouble seeing the punch since Shane set it up with a jab to the body.

Floyd does have a good chin anyone who thinks otherwise is just being silly and i dont think cotto would land many clean puches, he is too obvious and flat footed. just my opinion but i think we all know Floyd would make Cotto look silly.
Give it a ****ing rest already.
:lol1:
will everyone shut the fuk up and just admit that mayweathers chin is granite. This was the fight everyone said would prove that mayweather cant take a punch. people just dont realise that he CHOOSES not to take punishment and why should he if he can avoid it, the name of the game is to hit and not get hit. this is boxing not a street fight.
And now mayweather handled the shots of the heaviest puncher in the division now everyone is sayin well if it was cotto or if it was this or that.
he proved himself over and over again. what you should be asking is if mosley hit any other fighter with that same shot, would they have gone down, or lost the fight and the answer is probably yes.!!
Great post.
pullcounter the shittiest poster of all time
by far...
Thats just like saying if Paulie Malignagie landed the exact same shot that Manny Pacquiao did to KO Ricky Hatton then Ricky Hatton would of been KO'd by Malignagie.
would floyd have eventually gotten stopped?
How did that show that Floyd had a glass chin, it landed flush and you heard it land... it would of dropped most WW's... if anything it proven that Floyd has a pretty good chin really.
And its okay saying all of this "if" business but it wasn't Cotto in there, and Floyd fights each person differently so there is a chance that if it was Cotto a shot like that wouldn't of landed, each guy is different.
cotto = perfect version of castillo
Castillo = 7 years ago, in which Floyd clearly beat in the rematch with no signs of an injury (see in the first fight Floyd switching stances cause he apparently had a shoulder injury).
:lol1:
Come on now mate, lets be real, you can't really compare it to a close fight Floyd had over 7 years ago.
And they say I'm a bad poster, we saw a lil Filipino midget walk through Cotto's best shots but of course in the mind of a Mayhater Cotto would of KO'd Mayweather.
cotto = perfect version of castillo
Hell no. If there's one technique Castillo uses very effectively, its clinching. Cotto couldn't clinch if his life depended on it. When he gets caught, he always pushes backwards and loses focus, and then waits until everything sets back to to start attacking again (sometimes he even waits until the next round). Castillo on the other hand would clinch and throw body shots.
But to answer the question, no. If anything, Floyd would have had an easier time keeping Cotto off of him in that round. Also, Cotto's right hand just isn't what it used to be anymore so I doubt it would have had as much of an effect. Hell, even a prime Cotto's right hand isn't as good as Mosley's though.
