I was just looking for a fan group of Floyd Mayweather Jr, on Facebook. What I found was a fan group with 12.000+ members called: Floyd Mayweather Jr.
But the first group I found was: Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a pussy, with 21.000 members.
That got me thinking, is he really that hated in the US or around the World? Even the media in Denmark is starting to write hate articles. It's kinda sad, as I really enjoy watch Floyd Mayweather Jr. Entertaining and got skills that very few can compare with.
Exactly. It's more exciting and easier to hype a matchup between a "hero vs. villain" concept.
Also floyd has been pimpin the 24/7 thing for all its worth. I hope Manny follows the ODH and floyd model of promoting themselves. Hes good enough to do it and would get paid. His only problem is Bob is killing his credibility with all the different reasons for not testing
To me thats what is so brilliant and why floyd is the bigger draw. Fight fans and manny fans buy his fights to see him win or to see a KO. in addition to floyd fans and fight fans floyd gets haters to buy his fights to see him lose. I'd bet het gets an additional 100k buys just from haters.

This is absolutely true...I even saw an interview with Ellerbe where he admitted that half of people who watches Floyd fight doesn't even like him.

i gotta admit i member of that group although it was just for a bit of banter and a laugh. i dont actually hate floyd, i respect him and like to watch him box and i never write shit about him on here
floyd knows he is hated but i don't think he cares...he's not doing anything to perk up his reputation. he likes to play the villain role because it brings him more money. time will come that floyd will be remembered as a great fighter...but something negative will always be added to that description.

Pacfans are fanatical.......Floyd would get killed if he ever set foot in the Phillipines..............
Filipinos are very hospitable people. The only thing they don't like about Floyd is his character infront of camera (I personally believe he's a cool guy in real life and all he just loves to act as a villain), and this is understandable knowing that majority of Filipinos are very friendly and christian. I can also guarantee you that if Pac acts like Floyd infront of a camera, he won't get support from casual Filipino fans. Filipinos appreciates talent and hardwork, and I assure you that Filipinos who are boxing fans respect Floyd's talents (read my sig) Alot of casual fans started to love Pac because he represents hardwork, dedication, and generosity which are common values of Filipinos, and he puts the Philippines in a good light. You have to understand that Philippines is not exactly as popular as China, Japan, etc...so for Pac to represent our country and help it be more recognizable internationially, hell yeah it's a big deal, why wouldn't it be?
Point is, don't let diehard Pactards make you look at our country that way, they don't represent us as a whole. If you have money to burn and feel adventurous, why not plan a vacation in the Philippines? You'd be surprised how much fun you'd have.
I feel the same. I think that people will only appreciate him when he retires, I love to watch him fight but alot of people are jealous and want to see him lose. Especially on this site. lol
i dont wanna see him lose.
we want to see him use his skills, because we know what he got.rather than just talking a lot..
floyd needs to fight all those he needed to fight.. thats what the people wants. coz he's of higher standards and plus he brags.

I remember that when it happened, it was a pretty dumb thing to say. Im not sure what your point is either, I would never try and defend my favourite fighters when they do or say dumb things

More pics will be added when I find them
I disagree, There is videos all over youtube with people in the Phillipines watching Mayweather-Mosley. Also Mayweather was the 2nd most googled person in the Phillipines in 2009. lol those things are true but I agree with your point. They hate him but at the same time they love to talk about him and watch him. In the end it plays into Floyd's hands...
He's very popular all over the world
not just in 2009:
