i don't remember when i seen a current boxer in the last year or so that had great head movement and slip punches correctly or even try to move their head more then an inch. can you guys name some fighters THAT ARE NOT MAYWEATHER, with good head movement?
James Toney and Mike Tyson was like the last Boxers to really utilize the head movement, not many guys today use Boxing fundamentals, many of them are just looking for a quick KO
of course Mayweather still uses it, Timothy Bradley has AMAZING head movement just go watch his fight with Lamont Peterson and see how many times he was able to slip Lamont punches, Sergio Martinez is another guy with amazing head movement just ASK Kelly Pavlik and Paul Williams lol also Andre Ward has pretty good movement as does Andre Dirrell, Dirrell was able to make Froch and Abraham miss constantly but sometimes he gets sloppy, it is a few other fighters I can't think of at this time, Lucian Bute is pretty slick
i was wondering why it took so long for this guy not to get mentioned...he's the closest thing to a floyd/jones we got today...caballero as well...
word...martinez baby
Sergio Gabriel Martinez

id say pac's defense has holes, but his head movement was spot on you know? he moved that ****er a shitload. as far as head distance traveled over feet distance traveled - pac used to be up there. but as someone said, he doesn't move it as much as he used to, i do think he does it in a more effective manner now though.
what about james toney? hes washed up and completely done, but hes still hard to catch.
back when he was a middleweight james didn't move is head as much, it was only till he moved up to LHW though HW that he started to think more and fight slicker.yeah he's a tough mother****er to hit. but he's a mma fighter lol
i think pac head movement isn't all that good imo, he more prone to block then slip. then again you said pre-lightweight but i didn't think it was good then lol

I think Carl Froch has underrated head movement, along with the best uppercut in the game, maybe not the best in the sport and it's pretty awkward and can look clumsy but it's good.
fixed
Joan Guzman.
joan guzman in his prime was a beast, its a shame that talent was wasted. cause he can mange his weight.

Rigondeaux is very good with moving his head too, very small movements but enough to make his opponents miss and make them pay.
i've always thought pacquiaos head movement was great, especially the way he punches out of it, and how he keeps it going the entire fight. i think his earlier fights (pre lightweight) showcase it a bit more.
andre ward also has pretty great head movement, he rarely gets hit clean.

i don't think amir moves his head the way im talking about...then again im not sure i have to watch his fights again
watch some of his head movement in the kotelnik fight....
katsidis last fight he didn't use it as much..i think he getting into more offense without moving his head.
Huh? His head movement was extreme in the Mitchell fight. He was bobbing and weaving all over the place.
And a funny thing about Pacquiao is that he's started to move his upper body less since the De La Hoya fight - he's a lot more stationary now and relies more on footwork.
If you're talking about overall upper body movement then Pacquiao, Urango and Katsidis come to mind immediately.
katsidis last fight he didn't use it as much..i think he getting into more offense without moving his head. you think he fight like tyson with the way he bleeds
