Thoughts please, I think it's close but I believe he has.
Not to say p4p both in their prime that Floyd would win, he might... but historically speaking.
Floyd falls short in the meaningful opponents category. Jones battles with Hopkins and Toney would never have happened if he was worried about losing or his legacy. Additionally Jones completely unified all the titles in a division, something Mayweather has carefully chose not to do.
See, I never look at stuff like that. I just look at them as being 2 ATG's. It would be one thing if they were in the same division or fought the same guys but they didnt. Both were beast who you cant take anything away from. Still though, if I had to chooose, it would be Floyd. I like Floyd because I think that even though RJ moved up alot, he was always more comfotable at the weight than Floyd. I also think history shows in nearly all sports that if all things are nearly equal, the more fundemetally sound team or player will win out and I think thats Floyd.
If they fought P4P, RJ would be a freak but I think Floyd is too well skooled to lose to him. I will say that RJ brought the higher level in more fights than Floyd but if they both are on there A game then I think Floyd has shown to be better. Its apples & oranges really and you cant go wrong either way. I always say that when guys get older or lose then people forget how good they really were and RJ was a once in a liftetime type of talent that we will probably never ever see again. Floyd is a once in a lifetime type of skilled fighter that we will never see again. To each his own
Exactly, I cant compare these two because they are in diff wt classes they're both my favorite fighters tho...Roy Jones being first obviously
No Mayweather has not equaled the accomplishments of Jones Jr.. And I'm afraid it's a little late in his career to do it. Most of those that might try to claim he has were not even watching boxing when Jones was a champion. If Jones had avoided Toney and Hopkins and resisted unifying all the light heavyweight titles they would be more simular.
When Roy lost a step we saw what happened with him against Tarver and Johnson. When Floyd lost a step we saw him get hurt, adapt and dominate.
Both are ATGs but if Floyd wins a few more fights I wouldn't mind putting him ahead of RJJ
Well no shit since mostly the whole p4p list consist of fighter lower than 147 and Roy at his prime was at MW. That doesn't stop pacquaio and Floyd having better resume than roy.
No what stops them from having a better resume if their lack of better fights. Pac may have a legitimate claim to a better resume, but I in no way see how Floyd does. Not at all.
all I gotta say is a prime roy jones whoops everyone's ass in the pound for pound ranking... thats just me tho

You're an idiot and what you're saying is completely irrelevant here....my point has nothing to do with any other fighter, my comment was directed towards Roy fans who are infamous to over look his KO losses to Tarver and Glenn and put them in the "past his prime, doesn't count" file.....we should look at a fighters career as a whole when judging it IMO, or at least around his prime...the losses to Cal and Hopkins we could clearly see Roy was a shell, but against Tarver and Glenn although not in his prime he was still a great talent and was only showing a few signs of slipping......this doesn't even have anything to do with Floyd, I haven't even spoken on who's better and you're probably just assuming I think Floyd is better by calling me a Flomo......
He lost some of his reflexes and all of his punch resistance Id say that doesn't put him anywhere near prime.
Hahahahaha LOLLLLLL.....Floyd can't even win the Fighter Of The Decade.
As a fan of Both pac and floyd. It is very debatable that Pac has a better resume than Roy and might be higher ranking on the All Time List than roy. And as dominating roy was in his prime its sad that he never in his career every got the lineal title.
But the thing with floyd is that he had a questionable win against castillio while Roy never had any questionable wins till his dumbass decide to lose 30lbs of muscles after the ruiz fight and fought in controversal fight against tarver. You know how much 30 lbs is. That is like floyd losing 30lbs muscles to fight Donaire at flyweight
If prime Roy Jones was fighting right now there would be no debating whos#1 P4P. Floyd and Manny would be arguing for runner up.
No doubt about it. He was amazing.
Yes he has.
So has Pacquiao.
Floyd and Pac are Top 35 IMO.

Don't tell me that defeating an old past prime Mosley is the reason Mayweather surpassed Roy Jones. You don't know shit about boxing.
You're just a ball gargler and a bullshiter.
Your're a 17 year old kid.
Go to the video forum and watch some more fights before you come at me.

does ray leonard's one sided ass beatings given to him byTerry Norris and a fat coked up Hector Camacho tarnish his resume? How about the back half of Roberto Duran's career? Or SRR's? You Flomos make me sick, you guys know jack shit about boxing.

There is absolutely nothing about Roy Jones that ever impressed me, his resume is stacked with bums and only a few elite fighters.
Floyd on the other hand has a lot of big name fighters & he is still undefeated and has won titles in 5 different weight classes. I say he already surpassed Roy Jones.
