Ricky Hatton has revealed that he dreams of a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jnr!! If he ever returns to the ring. The Hitman, who has been out of action since his brutal knockout at the hands of Manny Pacquiao last May, says he’d love to put the record straight against Mayweather, to whom he lost in 2007.

**** Dicky Fatton, he was an overated cunt who was being saved by the judges all his career except for the Zyu fight. Collazo sparked his ugly pale face up and was given the fight. Urango alomost blistered his ass to if he would've not taken the dive. Please Dicky go back to your lame ass country because we don't want to see your unskilled ass fighting again. Give me a payday and I'll blister your ass with just three months of training.
In his defence, Mayweather was in the picture at that stage, that's who Hatton wanted. He should never have moved to 147 though, should've stayed at 140.
Yeah, but he looked bad at that weight. If that was him testing the waters to see if he could do it at 147 it should have been perfectly clear afterwards that he was not a Welterweight and would not be able to beat Mayweather.
The guy Ricky could have fought to make his LWW resume so much stronger is Cotto and he didn't want anything to do with him, ducked him on two occassions. Both were still pretty young champs as well (27 odd) and there styles would have made a good fight, with Miguel probably the victor.
He was in no shape to take on those guys straight away (well maybe Malignaggi with hindsight), he went on a 3 month bender after getting ko'd by the ringpost.
I'd like to say that excuses him, mate, but it doesn't. His lifestyle outside of the ring has contributed in his downfall. A disciplined, ambitious fighter would have wanted to bounce back from that loss, go back down to 140 and become a champion again.
A lot of people think "Ricky ruled the division" 'cause he was ring champ for so long. But he never held more than two of the 4 titles and the two biggest threats to his crown (Cotto and Witter) were both overlooked.
I agree. The win over Tszyu is what stands out on his record. Aside from that he doesnt have that much, Maussa and Urango were good fighters as is Collazo (but its debatable as to whether he actually won that fight). Ricky Hatton really should have fought Junior Witter. They were #1 and #2 for quite a while and that would have been a really good fight for British Boxing.
I like Hatton but I think Witter would have exposed him
I'd say Malignaggi and Castillo are his best wins after Kostya. Maussa was pretty powder puff, he hasn't done anything since losing to Hatton, he's fought twice more and lost. Urango holds up a little better 'cause he managed to get his hands on the IBF belt again somehow, but he didn't beat anyone worthy either.
I dunno who'd have won in Witter and Hatton. I think Hatton, back when he was hungry would have stopped him. But, we'll never know. What I will say is overall at 140, Witter took more risks and took on tougher opposition; prime undefeated Judah, Kotelnik, Bradley, Alexander. Collectively those 4 fighters are better than Ricky's. You could say Kostya trumps the lot, and he probably does, but them 4 are maybe better than the rest Ricky beat.
Awesome win. Even though Kostya was old people didn't think Ricky would beat him. Ricky was an underdog and put out a great performance and Kostya just couldn't handle his bulldog, relentless style.
But Ricky's rode a lot off that win.
Instead of taking on undefeated Miguel Cotto (who was the best boxer aside from Ricky at the weight) for the WBO belt, he took on Maussa for the WBA, who had already been beaten by Cotto.
Instead of taking on Cotto for a WBA, IBF and WBO unification fight, Ricky vacates his titles and moves up to 147 to fight Collazo.
Maybe he should have fought Torres, a much more dangerous opponent rather than Urango, but Urango was IBF champ and was undefeated. Torres would have held up as a better win over time, but that's hindsight, at the time beating an undefeated fighter was more prosperous.

After losing to Mayweather he then fights fúcking Juan Lasczano...instead of Ricardo Torres (who by this point has beaten Kendall Holt and was WBO champ for a few years) or Paulie Malignaggi who had the IBF belt and had called Ricky out right after the Mayweather fight or more importantly Junior Witter who was WBC champ. With them both being English World 140 champions with an old grudge this fight should have happened. Witter called him out so many times, and even offered to fight for free. This is solely Ricky's fault why that fight didn't happen.

Castillo was a decent win, despite what people say about "Castillo being old", he was 32 and that's not that old for a mexican style fighter and who had beaten KO'd Coralles a couple of fights before. Ricky KO'd Castillo in 4 rounds so I'd give credit where it's due.

Ricky doesn't want any of this current division though. Ricky v Alexander or Bradley? They aren't big enough names for him. But ability wise? They're better than any of Ricky's wins after Kostya.

He did beat Kostya Tszyu. For which I give him alot of credit

He will get damaged if he fights mayweather, pacquiao smashed him in a short period of time, floyd will beat him up for 6-7 rounds before stepping on him and knocking him the **** out, he should fight some of the current 140's try and win a title or bugger off and carryon promoting
Well said.We will never know how good Ricky is because when he tried to fight an opponent who was alive he got knocked out.
He did beat Kostya Tszyu. For which I give him alot of credit
Is ricky willing to take random drug test? :D
He would be the first fighter I would allow to TAKE PEDs just to be able to keep up with the opposition.
Ricky's doesn't want to come back and fight "fighters who he'd have KO'd in his prime" (Ricky's words not mine). This is excuse for not wanting to come back at 140 and face the likes Bradley, Khan or Alexander. The fact is, Ricky's spell at 140 was an easy ride, he didn't beat any one who was slick. His best win is Kostya. He conveniently ducked the other big guy at 140 who'd have give him trouble, Cotto. Hatton makes it sound like he beat plenty of fighters with the ability that Alexander and Bradley have, during his prime, but he didn't, the only guy Hatton beat who was better than Tim or Devon in Kostya.
It písses me off that Ricky looks down his nose at the current 140ers because everyone would give him trouble and even in his prime, he'd steam roll Khan, but Bradley and Alexander would have given him a lot of trouble and perhaps beaten him. Cotto would have beaten Hatton if Hatton had took him on instead of taking on Cotto's sloppy seconds in Maussa.
Fúck off Ricky, you earned your matches with Floyd and Pacman the first time around. Want to fight them again? Come back and win some matches against the top 140ers.

ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Does Ricky really think he could come off a 18 month layoff (assuming this fight was to happen later this year) even have a remote chance against Floyd?
He'd be nothing....he'd be absolutely gash.

nah...id say maybe one last fight with some one else then retire...no need in getting hurt even more...hes had a good career an all but it would be sad to see him getting beaten up more and more...
hatton is dreaming of a rematch with floyd, the reason is simple... money. hes probably watching their fight and think to himselh he could have won that if not for the ring post. he must also done watching his fight with pacman but everytime he watched it he probably having nightmares.
I'm with you there but he didn't and went on to get ****ed by Pacquiao! But I still can't see Ricky coming back to fight anyway!
I got a feeling he will come back though, Hatton is one of those fighters who can't just quit. I think he has some hunger left in him but its more of a question of who he could fight. If I was around him I would tell him to retire but I think he might come back to fight someone like Marquez or Khan and then if he wins maybe he could get one more big fight. But like I said before I dont think he should do it...
I thought Hatton should have retired after the Mayweather fight
I do not want to see him continue
