"Jack of all trades, master of none."
Demian Maia/Roger Gracie/Jacare Souza are not a masters of jiu jitsu? Johnny Hendricks/Ben Askren are not masters of wrestling? Alistair Overeem/Mirko Filipovic weren't masters of kickboxing? Fedor Emelianenko isn't a master of sambo? Satoshi Ishii isn't a master of Judo?
MMGAY fans tend to confuse skills with options. It's true, there isn't any kicking or groping allowed in the sport of boxing, but boxing is far more than just throwing a fist at a target.
MMA is far more than kicking or groping. Go ahead, don't be afraid to actually watch it once in a while.
i guess these sports really shouldnt be compared. theyre both combat sports but entirely different. in boxing there is only one discipline to learn, while in mma, one should train various discipline.
so its hard to say which is best.

MMA only goes to 3 Rounds or 5....in mma most fights finish in the 1st round...where as boxing it is an art, skill and the sweet science making it alot more better then MMA..
MMA = 15 to 25 minutes of boxing, kickboxing, wrestling (ever wrestled?), jiu jitsu
Boxing = 36 minutes of strictly boxing only
There's a reason MMA doesn't go on as long. It involves brute strength in your quads, biceps, triceps (grappling) as well as the boxing/kickboxing element to it.
there was a time when boxing fights were 15 Rounds or in the days of jack johnson or jack dempsey 20 Rounds
There was a day when MMA had NO time limits.
Georges St-Pierre is also a wrestler with a glass jaw.A few names you from an entire sport(as they call it) doesn't support your argument.
It certainly hasn't evolved over the last five, six years.
Try getting hit half as hard with bare hands on your chin and you'll find out quicker that all of humanity has a glass jaw.
Georges St-Pierre is also a wrestler with a glass jaw.
Because he was knocked out once with 4 oz. gloves he has a glass jaw?
A few names you from an entire sport(as they call it) doesn't support your argument.
It actually does, saying it doesn't support my argument is...just saying it doesn't support my argument, whether it does or doesn't.
It certainly hasn't evolved over the last five, six years.
Boxing hasn't evolved any faster in the last 5 or 6 years, and notice how every name I mentioned wasn't even a contender 5 or 6 years ago. Which, yet again, "supports my argument." Ha.
I can't remember where and when I read it but there was an interview with Brock Lesnar saying he wanted to go into Boxing but he choose MMA because his trainer was more relaxed with him!
And stated that he would've liked to come into Boxing but was put off with how much training he had to do for it!!
I can't link it because it was sometime when he just started MMA!! If I do find it I will post it here!
Look at Lesnar, he would've had to restructure his entire body and learn boxing almost from scratch.
Lesnar already had a background in grappling and had the body type to be successful in MMA in boxing he would've run out of gas standing up against a world class fighter or even a contender very quickly. His strength and different type of condition is totally different in both sports.
I'd say boxing is a harder sport due to the depth and how long it been around but they are still very different.
A man who learned his tricks of the trade from a university wrestling program noted for their hellish cardio was huffing and puff after eight minutes of work?
.
Yeah he was and saying that he was always nakered in WWE and that is just play-fighting!!
No,it's not! Lesnar looked like he was about to collapse against Couture. He was leaning all over him and breathing quite heavily actually.

This statement is so ****ing stupid your teeth turns green.

I can't copy and past this.Just read near the bottom of the article

Lesnar would pass out from just three rounds of sparring in a boxing ring. There's no doubt that's he athletic, but his cardio is suspect as he was huffing and puffing his way through a fight with a middle aged man just two rounds into their bout.

Anderson Silva, Alistair Overeem, Jose Aldo, Georges St-Pierre > Royce Gracie, Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, Don Frye.
You're way off.

MMA has only had 17 years to evolve. Pretty pointless argument. Boxing is deeper and more refined, too bad the new generation fan prefers all-around fighting skill over the sweet science.
New generation fan likes KO's instead of technical striking and/or the sweet science.
MMGAY has reached it's peak. The same one dimensional glass jawed grapplers are not improving. They still can't throw or take a punch.

The new generation is also into these Disney pop singers over real music like the Beatles,The Who,Foreigner,Queen and KC and the Sunshine Band.

I never competed in MMA so it's hard to make an honest comparison, but yes, I'd say boxing is harder. In MMA you can probably do more to cover your weak spots so to say, and boxing requires finesse on a different level. IMO, of course.
