I have to admit I don't want to see Vic get slaughtered against Rafael.

I don't even know if and why Showtime will approve of it. Darchinyan is one of their main fighters. I don't get it. Of course I'm not mad at Marquez for it, because he's getting right back in the ring. I still think the fight is a mismatch. I would like to see Marquez take out Chris John, then that would give Lopez less of an excuse to demand a purse split he doesn't deserve as it appears he is doing. Lopez said, "If you want big money fight me." Well, newsflash. Rafael Marquez is a big name now too.

You should never discount Vic. People were saying pretty similar things before the Mijares fight and look how that went down. Vic is a tough, awkward guy. An easy fight for nobody. This would be a much bigger jump in weight class than Mijares. Marquez was a great bantamweight champion who is now a featherweight. Darchinyan failed against an average 118 lb champion.

Common sense tells you that Marquez is a sure thing. But for some reason, the more I think about this fight the more I want to see it.

I want to see Rafael try to take out Chris John. Get revenge for his brother and I'm sure that would have a good selling point. Make John's ass come over here though.

Really? Personally I think it would be a fun match to watch. Of course I'd give the edge the Marquez, but Vic can make it a fun fight. It isn't the best match up, but I would be fun to see for however long it lasts.

Vic is in the twilight of his career and is cashing out. Both guys are capitalizing on their names to try and make a big money fight. It's not the fight I want to see, but it's still a pretty good scrap.
