My sources tell me Briggs just won by KO in the 1st Round...no wonder they scheduled a fight like a week after this one...damn lol
Sadam Ali won a 4 round decision...
And here's FightNooze...
Another quick one for ex-WBO heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs. Briggs needed 20 seconds to demolish Dominque Alexander. Briggs landed two left hooks to the body and Alexander went down and couldn’t get up steady, prompting the referee to call a halt.
Unbeaten junior welterweight Mike Faragon (11-0, 5 KOs) scored a fourth round TKO over Francisco Pallacios (4-11-5, 1 KO). Pallacios did not come out for start of the fifth. There were no knockdowns. Faragon dominated the four rounds.

Junior middleweight Sadam Ali (7-0, 3 KOs) won a four round unanimous decision over Martinus Clay (13-26-4, 5 KOs). All three judges scored the card 40-36. Ali was a 2008 Olympian.
Its funny how all the opponents Lennox defeated 10 years ago are knocking guys out again. Vitali, Holyfield, Tua, Michael Grant and now Briggs.
It just shows how superior the Lennox era was and how great he was to defeat every opponent he ever faced.
Except for Vitali, none of those guys has beaten a top 30 contender in years. Fights like these prove absolutely NOTHING.
It looks like he might have been 268lbs rather than the 258lbs some sources were listing him as. The woman at the weigh in says 268 I think.
You didn't actually believe Briggs got himself into semi-decent shape did you?

World Kid seems to have shit power. I don't know what the hell he is doing at JMW he needs to get ALL the way down to 135-140.
SADAM ALI originally was fighting at 143 for his last fight ... fight fell thru.. the availabilty was clay the 150LB'er... Ali took fight and ate his way up to 150.. thats the disadvantage bout being a free agent and no promoter.. 135?? no way .. 140 ... if theres a guy i believe he makes weight..

If Briggs gets down to around 245lbs and gets some of that speed back, he will have to be considered a dangerous opponent for anyone. He absolutely has to get himself into decent shape - condition wise. If he can come in like he did in the old days he has a slight chance against Wladimir. But that is a massive if right now, so we'll have to wait and see. The weight loss is a good indicator at least.
Your exactly right...idk what the hell he's doing around 150...they'll prob get him down to 140...
Sadam deff has skills...he's cool he's been in my gym a few times...
Him, Danny Jacobs, Kid Stark, Curtis Stevens I **** with them all heavy. NY all the way baby I will ride with them until the wheels fall off and the engine fails.

2 fights ago he tested Positive For Illegal Substances and the fight was ruled a No Contest....so maybe hes juicing again..
Yeah there going to do exactly what they did last time, put him in there with about 10 journeymen until they can get him a title fight with Haye probably. I'm sure that's what they're hoping anyway, but I see Haye outworking him pretty easily.
His opponent was a cruiserweight who has been KOed in 6 of his past 9 fights.
Wlodarczyk knocked Alexander out in the first round too, and he's more shot now than he was then.
Briggs next opponent (another cruiserweight Rob Calloway) is also shot and has been getting KOed a lot lately.
Why do you hate EVERY american boxer?
Briggs isnt even relevant anymore. Why do you care so much about it?
Yeah something like that. Briggs has been done for years but for some reason I'd still like to see him against a top guy in the near future. He's a big HW with some very good power, Briggs is also a funny guy, I like his personality.
As long as he stays consistent and keeps his weight in check he can definitely pose a threat to the contenders and HW champs..
