some of you might hear about death of two korean boxers, kim duk koo and choi yo sam. they died after massive wars in the ring.
kim duk koo, the challanger of former lightweight champion ray mancini, fought with his soul and tragidically passd away from brutal punishment
and Mother and Ref committed suicide in the months following
because of this, boxing round were changed from 15 round to 12round
choi yo sam. the former superflyweight champion, collapsed after winning the fight on Dec 25, 2007. He underwent a brain surgery immediately but died on Jan 02, 2008. Choi donated his property, internal organs and cornea. South Koreans and boxing fans all over the world will mourn over the unexpected death of such a generous and great boxer.
I hope these kind of accidents will never happen again hoping ji-hoon kim take their wishing, to become a champion.
well I don't like to relate this thread to Test stuff but i concur. if anyting can prevent boxers from accident then it must be done.
One, there is no proven evidence that drugs relate to boxing deaths. If ever, most dopers lose their fights. This is not like baseball or cycling or shit. Boxing needs whole body coordination. Not just trying to hit a target coming forward that doesn't hit at all or moving your lower extremity muscles and not tire, which is the beauty of the ART of boxing. Yeah, it's not just a sport, it's an ART. We already have sufficient tests for PEDs, extra tests are just for compliance. Not that I do not agree with it, I think it's a good thing, I just don't think it's totally necessary.
Two, the only sure way to prevent accidents in boxing is not boxing at all. It's a brutal sport, yeah, but hurting your opponent is the number one priority. How could you totally prevent an accidental hurting if your main goal is to actually hurt somebody? Just like you can't prevent crashes in races. Boxers walk a thin line between life and death when inside the boxing ring more so than any of the other sport that we have besides the WWE of course.
Hey, why not tell this to the guy asking us if we are testing fans or boxing fans?
According to him, boxing fans shouldn't really care both fighters come drugs free to the ring, rather they "deliver the goods" as opposed to "testing fans" who need to know.
Sure even clean fighters can incur in serious injury but the chances are lower as you can imagine...
Lets rub this thread on to the "boxing fans" faces and see what they have to say "err I'm really sorry for his family (not). I wish him the best. Shit happens. Great fight". Now imagine just imagine one of those guys was actually on some PEDs. He would have stopped punching or would have quit taking punches if not for them, imagine they would find that out (not really unlikely if you think where the fights took place and the holed testing program boxing currently applies), would that shit still make you proud to be a "boxing fan" rather than a "test fan"?

C'mon man.
It sucks that they died from fighting related injuries but c'mon, don't start talking about that stuff with Ji Hoon. He is still young.
I wish great things for Ji Hoon "Volcano" Kim.
I didn't intend to relate with ji hoon kim. i just wanna make you guys realize how dangerous boxing is and make sure boxing should be safe with medical aids
