CARL FROCH is ready to quit the ring if he loses his next fight.
Former WBC super-middleweight champion Froch is still smarting over his controversial points defeat by Mikkel Kessler in Denmark.
And he insists he will think over his future if he fails to beat Arthur Abraham to reach the semi-finals of the Super Six World Boxing Classic.
Froch, 32, said: "The next fight is all or nothing for me. If it doesn't go my way I will seriously consider retirement because I'm only interested in big title fights. I won't hang around at domestic level."
He is adamant his fight with German-based Armenian Abraham must be staged in England and he will withdraw from the Super Sixes if ordered to travel to Berlin.
He warned: "I'm only going to fight on my terms - and I won't be pushed around this time.
"The home-town decisions in this competition have been a disgrace so I am not going to Berlin because there's no chance of getting a verdict.
"I won't be going anywhere east of Nottingham to fight Abraham and it won't be in Showtime's interests for me to pull out."
Froch is convinced he did enough to maintain his unbeaten record against Kessler last month despite pre-fight problems. He said: "Four days beforehand I thought it was off because of the volcanic ash cloud.
"I had a big meal and rehydration drinks - then on the Wednesday before the fight Showtime were begging me to take a private plane to Denmark.
"My preparation was shot to pieces and I didn't have my usual sharpness.
"I had Kessler hurt in the fifth round and usually I would have been all over him and finished it off. But the energy and aggression weren't there. Even so, I went 12 rounds with an absolute legend and still believe I won the fight.
"I have watched and scored it myself and reckon I won by two or three rounds. But that's the risk you run when you defend on foreign soil."
Froch, currently recovering from a perforated eardrum, is due to fight Abraham in August or September.
And if he wins there is a chance of facing Kessler again in the semi-finals of the tournament also featuring Americans Andre Dirrell, Allan Green and Andre Ward.
Froch insisted: "I'd love to get him in the semis because I know how to beat him now."

This just shows that a boxing competition today is a fail
It's not correct to change the rules now and have fights outside of fighters home countries.
Abraham should fight in Berlin, Froch is a joke
To all the yanks throwing mud as usual, it's
Froch 2
'slick' American fighters 0
including 1 via brutal KO in the US, his only loss is a decision to a half-English European overseas.
so pipe down.
froch owned himself.....
what he bitching about, he should be 0-2....... :lol1: and abraham is gonna retire his ass..
See here thats what the general consensus will start saying about Froch when he makes comments like that. If you want to quit the tournament quit HBO may let him fight Bute or Pavlik but he will never hear the end of it from Calzaghe. The fact that he lost to Kessler is really doing a job on Froch b/c his idol had his way with Kessler and he couldn't do what Joe already did.
Hope he doesnt.. im a Froch fan.. he's a great fighter.. like to see his fights... War Froch!!!! :boxing:
He's a cool cat he just needs to stop with the retirement BS. He got to fight at home on his terms and whines when he fights 2 hrs from home. There is no shame in losing in this tournament b/c its the best fighting the best. Kessler never said I'm going to quit or retire if I loss he got back up and pushed harder.
Well said Froch, IMO i thought the fight with Kessler was too close for the belt to change hands, u must beat the champion convincely especially in your home crowd.. If Kessler did win, it had to been by a point or two..I had Froch winning by 2 points,,to me it that just too close for the belt to exchange hands...Now i don't think Froch is gonna pull off this fight with Abraham, IMO Froch just doesn't have the footwork or upper body movement to pull it off....Froch is a good fighter and good for the sport of boxing,, i hope he doesn't retire...

Froch is sounding like his fighting spirit has been broken, I can't believe he's saying all of this I thought the fight w/Abraham was going to be in a neutral site. Froch is turning into that guy. Everything is great when fighting at home but step outside and it's b/c of the judges. Yeah he came over to the US and beat JT but he JT was damaged goods and still almost got the job done. Now he has all the excuses in the world, and plenty of time to do interviews when he should be puttin in work in the gym preparing for an ultimate warrior that will destroy him if he catches him clean.
He should retire if he loses to Abraham.
One thing I would say though is that he shouldn't worry about not getting a decision in Germany, Froch v Abraham isn't going the distance, someone's getting KO'd.
He's right about Kessler though, Froch had him in the 5th and didn't finish, he'll regret that forever if he doesn't win the next one.
i dont think he should retire if he lost to aa.he does have a point with the venue issue.all fights should have been on neutral ground from the begining
