Khan vs. Ortiz after tonight, WHO R U PICKING?

Hard to say because both are improving alot. Two Main flaws...when Ortiz backs up or moves, he left hand is too low...leaving him open for right hands. Khan is too stiff when backin up and also has chin in the air when pulling back from exchanges. If I had to pick right now, I would say Khan soley due to Roach and the adjustments they would make throughout the fight. Also I can see Khan keeping Ortiz at the end of his jab so Victor needs to work on his head movement a bit more because to get past it.

Unless he gets caught with something wicked. I see Khan cruising to a UD or late KO.

ur rep power is crazy son!!! but i got my money on ortiz. he's technically sound, he might get outboxed, but he picks his shots and if he lands on khan, it's lights out. lets face it ppl, part of bein a champion is having a chin. floyd is a whole level better than khan is when it comes to defense and even he get's hit. if khan gets hit by some of the worldbeaters at 140, would u bet on him takin the hit??? I agree with everything here. Khan is a wonderful boxer. Better than Ortiz. However, when he gets hit with that flush shot I don't think he'll be able to handle it. Its too bad. He's got the world of potential but the bad chin is gonna cost him. I'm not a fan of Ortiz at all after the Maidana fight and how he laid down. But I believe Bradley is the best 140 lber

If Amir imporves his punching in combos, he can take out (again) Ortiz's heart.

How Khan did against the lightest puncher on the planet tells us little on how his chin would stand up to Ortiz who has very good power.

I got Khan by KO or wide UD. Ortiz doesnt have the heart, and will most likely get discouraged by Khan's jab in his face all night. Ortiz might quit too.

"One good shot and Khan's finished". What does this mean? I've heard it so many times. Look, one good shot dropped on ANYONE'S chin at the top level has the potential to finish the fight. Fighting Khan presents many challenges. First you've got to counter his foot speed. Then you have to counter his guard (which, under Roach, has developed out of sight). Then you have to hit flush (no easy thing as he slips punches well). Then, and only then, is it a question of power vs chin. No one would argue that Khan's chin is stone. But if you're using the Prescott defeat as proof of a glass jaw you're crazy. Prescott is a big, BIG hitter who would have anyone in this division - Bradley, Maidana or Alexander - in trouble if he caught clean. TBH, I think Khan has the beating of all of them. He's too fast. He's too athletic. He's too slick. He has concussive power in either hand and, IMO - the deal clincher - his jab is lethal. Speed + a good jab + heavy hands = a nightmare for any opponent.

Khan by TKO. Khan will box his ears off. Use his awesome jab and land quick combinations. You saw what Khan did to somebody with Paulie's speed, and Ortiz isn't as fast as Paulie. Khan will wear him down and break his will, 11th round TKO. Ortiz was impressive against an old, shot Campbell. Khan look impressive against an old, shot Barrera. Khan has the better resume anyway, and a title to boot. Ortiz has done nothing, who has he beaten? Khan has beaten Earl at Lightweight, a good win. Former world-champ in Gairy St. Clair. Can't give him props for beating an old, shot Barrera though. Beat a world champ (albeit an average champ) in Kotelnik. And a very impressive win against a top class boxer in Malignaggi who is off the back on two wins against Diaz. Ortiz has only beaten Antonio Diaz at 144, and an old, shot Campbell.

Everybody quickly forgetting how Ortiz gave up against Maidana? C.mon you dudes can't be serious. Yeah sure the guy is a good southpaw but what happens when he gets hit by Amir Khan. This dude clearly out boxed a slick fighter and Ortiz already knows what it feels to be beat by Amir and it does not matter if it was in the amatuers. That memory will not have gone away. Khan vs. Ortiz after tonight, WHO R U PICKING? still in the 7th of the ortiz fight. haven't seen the khan fight yet. that said i like ortiz by ko in a khan matchup. these 2 are my favorites at 140 right now. i think they beat bradley , devon , peterson , urango , maidana , marquez , hatton etc. i'd give both guys a good chance to beat pacquiao if manny ever goes back to 140 as well.

Khan by TKO. He'll make this new version of Ortiz, which i think is mentally inferior to the version of Ortiz before the Maidana fight, quit. Khan is too fast, too tall and rangey. Ortiz is fighting very boring and safe as of late even though his defense is second rate.

It's the power mixed with skill, and Ortiz has both, malignaggi only had skill. Being Ortiz a southpaw, I'd have to put my money on Ortiz.
