I'm rolling with Campbell, if he shows up correct. I'm not satisfied with Ortiz's ability to come through adversity. Though Ortiz has more talent and a better skill set, mentally is suspect. I like Ortiz, he's a good, young cat, but not tonight I'm afraid.
This is Ortiz's chance to make a mark for himself again. To erase the image of him being a quitter against a tough veteran who's had some great wins. I'm a fan of both fighters but I think if Ortiz has the mental toughness he can win by UD..9 rounds to 3.
Who you got tonight? Thinking of laying some cash on this fight tonight and just wanted to see what everyone's opinion was.
Ortiz. I don't think Campbell is the same fighter that beat Diaz. I have to go with the percentages and usually up and coming fighters win this type of match up. Campbell looked slow and out of sync against Bradley and I have no reason to think he's improved since then.
Thanks for the replies dudes. I think I'm going to lay it on Ortiz tonight. His price keeps going up (was -200 yesterday, now -230) which I find is usually a good indicator of how the fight is going to go. Its not true 100% of the time, but more often than not when a line continues to rise the favorite usually pulls it off.
I put money on Ortiz, but I'm not 100% confident on that.
I've been watching Campbell's last few fights and the man can fight. He is underrated. Nate was competitive and looked pretty good against Bradley for 2 rounds up until the cut. He doesn't have a problem against southpaws either, the highlights I saw of Casamayor-Campbell was him raking Joel with right hands all night. He's not as fast anymore, but he still has a lot of his skills and talent.
The thing that really troubled Campbell in the Bradley and Funeka fights is combos and a high punch output. Ortiz has the fast combos, but doesn't have the volume.
People don't realize how hard Ortiz hits. No one at 140 can take clean Ortiz punches for long, so that will make Campbell tentative, but Ortiz will get clocked a few times with that right hand. Most of what I saw from analyzing tells me that Campbell will do very well against Ortiz, but I still think Ortiz has something special. If he does, he wins. If he doesn't, he loses.
Ortiz looked two weight divisions above campbell at the weigh in...Ortiz is the hardest hitter Campbell is about to face...Ortiz is a sucker for a right habd and Campbell knows how to land those well...I got Ortiz winning in less than 6 rounds...even if the Campbell that faught Diaz shows up...
Ortiz talent means he should win
But I feel Campbell has more mental attributes. He knows what it takes and has been in alot of ruff and tough fights, With fighters that are/were better than Ortiz. I can see this being a very good fight but its all about who can start landing first. If Campbell gets his respect early then it could be a long night for Ortiz but Ortiz is much more skilled and strong aswell. I think he will win the fight but it's a hard one to predict

Really can't decide. Have a feeling something crazy is going to happen in that fight though to spoil it. Hope not.
