I just watched his match with Wilfredo Gomez and this guys was the truth, very slick and had power on both left and right hands..
What if he had not died in his prime could he have succeeded JCC as the best Mexican Boxer ever??
I think so..
He died at 23 years old, way before he peaked in talent. He was just a kid still. He wouldve been better than JCC most likely.
JCC & salvador = rican killers :spank:
You love us Rican. You can not stop talking about us.
He's my favorite fighter of ALL TIME!!..
he Had it all..he was slick, good defense, and very very powerful..the way he manhandled Gomez was amazing..
But he did beat great fighters!..

That Sanchez-Gomez fight was terrific. I have Sal's career set on DVD. My favourite ever Mexican fighter, even over MAB and Morales. I loved the calmness he showed in the ring, even in the most intense exchanges.
Personally I think he definitley would have gone on to be Mexico's greatest ever without the tragic event.

Awesome atmosphere at that fight, salsa playing, mariachis playing (if I remember correctly) bomb azz fight, guts, determination on both sides
