Wow, Manny is starting to look really, really bad.
According to Robert Hough of *********.com, WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward and challenger Allan Green are in support of the idea of Olympic-style drug testing prior to their Super Six clash on June 19th in Oakland, California. Ealier today, during a press conference to discuss the upcoming bout, both fighters agreed to the testing when the subject was brought up. Ward's promoter, Dan Goossen, was also in agreement with the additional testing procedures. Whether or not Green's promoter, Lou DiBella, shares those sentiments remains to be seen, but Goossen will sit down and discuss the matter with him as soon as possible. The decision to request Olympic-style testing is becoming a growing trend in high-profile fights. The notion was first brought up by Floyd Mayweather, who demanded Olympic-style drug testing during negotiations for a bout with Manny Pacquiao. Ultimately, that fight fell through when Pacquiao chose not to participate in the additional tests, however, Shane Mosley did agree and his May 1 bout with Mayweather marked the first time that a professional boxing match complied;with United States Anti-Doping Agency drug testing procedures. Undefeated heavyweight contender Alexander Povetkin has made a similar request;during negotiations for a potential bout with WBO champ; IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko. The irony about Andre Ward is that he's been working with BALCO founder Victor Conte, who spent four months in prison after pleading guilty to money laundering and steroid distribution charges.
all i know is i've never seen Kessler getting beat like that, i mean this was the guy that gave Joe Calzaghe a serious run for his money. and now all of a sudden, Ward makes him look like a fool. I really didn't get it..
but then i heard (according to an article in Ring Magazine) he used some of Victor Conte's stuff for "intermittent hypoxic training", to stimulate the build of more blood cells (JUST like EPO, what Shane used!) and that REALLY made me doubt.. even if he used the stuff and wants to do OSDT now, it's probably out of his system now, right?
i'm not a Ward hater, but i am suspicious.. oh well..
where did you hear this? is he still using s.n.a.c. products? because if he is then he's pretty much still with conte as that company is owned by conte.
i think ward improved drastically after beginning these supplements. it proives my theory that there is room for supplements but not steroids in sports
The higher ups need to step in and make this the standard. At least for title fights or something of high calibre.
Agreed, I know that having all fights with OST is a tough task, non title bouts could continue with the current testing for now, but all title & title eliminations bouts should have OST.
kessler's been a sauerland fighter. sauerland has been an advocate for OST for his fighters and their opponents.
did they start ost before the pac-mayweather fiasco though?
it wasn't as much of an issue then. it happened before manny and floyd started negotions iirc
if anything, kessler was the one drugged(kidding). he looked horrible in that fight. obviously ward had a big part in it, but he looked like he was made of lead

why didnt ward take OST when he fought kessler?

Hopefully my boy Battlingnelson will stop accusing Ward of juicing now.
LOL. He was shown a link last week or so that showed that Ward was not with Conte and he was relieved to say the least!
too much OSDT going on...although i am abit suspicious to why andre ward has hired victor conte  so it is a good idea that the OSDT is going on between ward and allan green just in case..but i doubt ward is doping
Ward isn't working with Conte anymore.
