What if the combination of moving up & Steward made Cotto look like prime Cotto again and he kills Foreman. Would you then in his very next fight support a Pac rematch for Pac to get his 8th title or would you still not want to see it after Pac just killed him?
Me, I would love to see Cotto look sharp & prime again but Id rather watch him fight Williams, Cintron, Spinks, or Angulo but not Pac next and probably never unless he wins like 2 more big fights. I wouldnt even want to see him fight Floyd yet or a Martinez. The other guys I wouldnt mind though
Pacquiao would never agree to a rematch if Cotto looked prime again. But, if it did happen, I would definitely be willing to watch it, although a closer and better fight would be that Cotto vs. Mayweather (this would be fabulous).
One of Cotto's main problems against Pac was his defence. Even a prime Cotto was flawed in this department, a guy with Pac's speed and power would always give him problems and I wouldn't want to see a rematch as I think it'd go the same way.
I think he'll be smaller than most at 154, speaking a fan I'd prefer to see him against the likes of Mayweather/Berto/Cintron or a rematch with Shane. I wouldn't have a problem with a Spinks fight, but I wouldn't expect it to be all that entertaining and I think Spinks is past it.
I dont agree, Cotto is excellent defensively, hell even Manny Steward said Cotto is one of the best defensive fighters hes ever worked with. Cotto didnt have great balance in that fight because he was trying to hold his own against a much faster fighter. People also seem to forget Santiago never gave Cotto any advice during that fight, thats gotta be more frustrating than having Buddy mcGirt in your corner.
That being said, Im not making excuses for Cotto because Pac would very likely beat him in a rematch.
I want to see Cotto fight Angulo and Margarito again, those will be exciting fights. Spinks will probably stink out the place after he feels Cottos power, Dzinzruk is virtually unknown in the US, Kirklands still in jail and Cintron has lost a lot of stock. Williams will probably chase Martinez now
-cotto is a freakin shorty now at 154, has size/reach disadv.
-its his 1st fight fightin a champ!
-carries more weight and looked a bit flabby...lmo so he could be slower
-he used to run out of gas at the end because he likes to kill his victims early, but now it would be a nightmare
-big Minus again the speed
+ a welcomed coach...better gameplan/corner
+ power adv., hope he knocks the wind out of him
it would be difficult, but Cotto is a warrior, a great fighter, knows his boxing
if he won, I would radher watch him fightin the shot Pwill lol,Kamikaze Kermit, Berto the baby and MOST the Mexican crybaby who doesnt get enuf attention.
if he loses lmo hes real shot to shit like Vergas. but still would beat Angulo
WaR CoTTo
It's not an excuse, it's a fact. Did you forget this fight was at a catchweight? What is the sole reason for a catchweight?
i know it's a catchweight but i'm talking about what actually happened in the fight. did cotto look weight drained? he got a complete beatdown and yet he lasted 11 rounds...weight drained to you? i agreed when people said morales was weight drained in his 3rd fight with pac and true enough he was out in 3rd round.
another lame excuse...a weight drained fighter can not absorb that kind of punishment and last for 11 rounds. if he was out the first time he got floored i would buy that excuse.

It will give weight to the argument that Roach and Pac wanted to fight a weight drained Cotto.

He cant keep Pac from hitting him. The weight doesnt matter Pac is too fast for Cotto and he can hurt him. Im a Cotto fan and not really a Pac fan, but Pac has his number.
if he'll look good in his next fight...what will happen to the damaged goods or shot fighter excuse when pac fought and beat him?

I am so anxious to see Cotto and Steward together in June. For the first time in years, Cotto will have a complete and experienced corner. I'm looking forward to seeing the Cotto that boxed and let the KO come instead of the trying to be the crowd pleaser.
Pac / Cotto again would seem stupid to me.. unless its at 154 NO CATCHWEIGHT!!!.. then im intrested.. and Roach vs Steward.. that would be a pretty good to watch too..
how do you know they are having chemistry problems?
I didnt say they are having chemistry problems..I said I dont like their chemistry together.. they may very well get along..Im talking about as far as Stewards training style being beneficiary to Cotto...
