Now before i get hit with red k & called a hater and so forth, it's an honest question. Pacquiao is still young and probably at the top of his game at this point and could easily fight at 147 or even go down to 140 and clear out the division, so why the politics & the talks of retirement?
Sugar Ray Robinson fought 200 times. And Pactards have the gall to compare Pacquiao to real men.
Sugar Ray fought WAY past his prime because of money issues. Which resulted in unnecessary beatings and losses. Robinson was a warrior but he would have retired way before he ever to the point he got, if he could have! Manny nor any other fighter should ever reach that point!
pac actually planned to retire by the time he was 30. because he said he didn't wanna wait until he something happens(health wise). he is 31 now. He also has nothing left to prove. Simple really.
hes got plenty of money to support his family and hes in good health, if he chooses to retire i wouldnt blame him. id be some what upset he didnt fight mayweather, but i can understand him wanting to enjoy a life hes worked hard for

Why not retire...he's already accomplished everything a fighter can accomplish an then some...what more does he have to prove? He just needs a fight with Mayweather to prove beyond doubt that he is not just this era's greatest champion, but one of the greatest champions of all time... A fight with Mayweather Cements that status...assuming the fight happens and he wins. There after there is nothing left for him to prove. Retire and sail off into the sunset with hopes and dreams of changing his country for the better (Not a bad story book ending if I say so myself).
I'll take this thread as a joke...right??? 50+ fights. In politics. Beaten legend after legend. War after war. Division after division. More money than God in the Ph. Do you honestly need more?
Lets see Pac has been in a ton of wars, he has secured his legacy, and he is filthy rich. Honestly at this point what else does he have to prove? Honestly at this point he is mostly fighting for his love of the sport! Anything else he gives the fans at this point is just gravy! And guess what they say he still has 3 big fights left in him, so he's not in that big a hurry!
anyone..except Mosley..at 142..that is!:lol1:
do you really think mosley has a chance against PAC at 142 after seeing him fight like that against floyd.. plus draining himself to achieve 142lbs???
why was Mayweather so eager to retire young? he was ducking and doging all opposition.
it was wise of him too.. let them beat each other up and then come back so he doesn't have to fight no one.
Pacquiao ain't doing the same though.. he has chosen to retire after doing pretty much all he can do (with the exception of fighting Mayweather, but we all know Floyd don't want it) It's pausible that Manny Pacquiao has a viable chance at the presidency in his country... so why not take the opportunity?
It isn't like he is retiring for no good reason.. like Floyd did.
especially with his style...its not like he was a defensive whiz that never got hit...we're talkin about wars with anyone who was willing
anyone..except Mosley..at 142..that is!:lol1:
flomos think he is on ROIDS so PAC needs to retire.. why be butthurt about him retiring.. ridding a roider in boxing.. you fomos must be happy he is retiring..

sorry, but I had to laugh at how you jumped this off :lol1:

Coz his mama says so, and mama knows best!
he's been fighting for 15+ years...he's had over 50 fights...you make it sound like the guy is 20 with 15fights
Seriously...
People have forgotten he had a legend and his status in the annals of the sport after the second Marquez fight. If he had retired then, he would have been one of the best fighters in the lower weight divisions ever.
Everything he has done since is just furthering him up the ladder. He's not young, he's not at his physical peak, in fact he is just losing it more with every fight.
He's probably referring to the E-OG, Burner, bringing up Floyd retiring, and how people hated on Floyd.
Yeah i only got to read about those previous posts after i had submit my post, But i understand people would want to bring the "Floyd retiring" scenario into the thread but there is no need for it, The TS was asking a simple question and judging by the response am sure he has find some of the answers he was looking for.
gee let me think, people are blaiming manny for getting into politics and retiring, yet their hero floyd did the same thing (without the politics) just maybe?
I dont see anywhere on the TS's initial post which suggest, He was blaming Mayweather..He had a topic about Pac and he isnt a Mayweather fan either and so what if he was?
I just dont get why people mix those two together all the time, No one is blaming Pac for getting into politics and he isnt retired either so no need for you to be paranoid and defensive.
Whats that got to do with Pacquiao and this thread?

floyd retired when the division was hot
then came back when alot of them lost to each other, and fought someone much lighter, and out of the division.
but this doesnt get mentioned cuz hes floyd and can do no wrong.
Whats that got to do with Pacquiao and this thread?
The guy has a lot of fights from a very young age, His mum wants him out and there is also his interest in politics..I think thats all good enough reason. And i would never question his reasons to be honest.
