I think williams is horrible. he gets by because of his size and volume punching. his technique is horrible. he fights with his chin in the air and throws his punches awckwardly. I think he's a knockout loss waiting to happen. I think citron may have got to him if he wasnt such a pussy and would have continued on. williams is one of the most overrated fighters in the game
How is Ward's win over Kessler better than Dawson's resume? Are Glen Johnson and Tarver better fighters than Martinez and Wright? JMM has a bad what have you done for me lately resume. Casa and Diaz are shot and JMM just got whitewashed by Floyd. Oh well, everybody is entitled to their opinion.
Williams has fought better fighters than Ward overall. However his only real big win is a close win over Margarito. Ward dominated Kessler. Skill level, its not even close. Same with Dawson. He's been dominant in his last few fights whereas Williams was outboxed by Martinez and outboxed for 4 rounds against Cintron. And he is on another planet skill wise to Williams.
JMM lost to Mayweather moving up 3 weight classes basically. I had him p4p no1 before that loss. His skill level is also way ahead of Williams.
I would have Martinez ahead of Williams. I think beating Pavlik was a better win then Williams last fight. I also thought Sergio won against Williams and fought and looked a lot better against Cintron also.
I would also have Ward ahead of Williams. The way he beat Kessler he looks like the best at 168. Froch and Dirrell Abraham don't look at his level.
Also Williams looks way bigger then the guys he is fighting. I don't know how he does it he looks like a big middle weight. The guy might be 6'4 has a huge back and shoulders . The guy has been out boxed three times by smaller men. In his last seven fights.
Resume + skill level = all better than Williams.

Dawson only fights once every ten months. Only impressive performance here lately was the Johnson rematch. The Klits don't belong in the top ten. JMM is fighting a rematch with a shot ass Diaz and calling out Hatton, Morales, and a smaller Guerrero. Ward hasn't won the tournament yet. Mosley over Williams? LMAO.

You can. I personally thought Marquez outboxed Pacquiao and it was a FOTY candidate.
I have Martinez, Dawson, the Klits, JMM, Ward and Mosley above him i believe.

You don't get outboxed in fight of the year candidates. Who should we put over him then?.

Im too stunned by your logic. Skill set has no bearing on the pound for pound best boxers in the world list?
For real tho? :lol1:
It doesnt.
You think writers care that Paul isnt that skilled?
His resume consists of a close win over Margarito. Getting outboxed by Quintana. Knocking him out in a rematch. Then getting outboxed by Martinez. Then being outboxed for 4 rounds against Cintron.
Dont get me started on his skill level.
You don't get outboxed in fight of the year candidates. Who should we put over him then? JMM? Bradley? One of the Supermiddleweights while the tournament is going on? You have to go by resume and activity too. Calzaghe got outboxed by Hopkins and got to keep his P4P spot.
3rd post in a row you have nothing to post. Typical.

Stop acting like you didnt know what I meant. Paul Williams doesnt have to be the most skilled, or fundamentally sound fighter to labeled a good talent and a Top P4P fighter.
"Dont get me started on his skills"
Thats what I replied to since you were about to rip him on his skill set when that has no bearing on the P4P List. Some of the most skilled fighters most people on NSB dont even know or talk about.
Skill set has no bearing on the p4p list?
WOOOOOOW :lol1:
Never said they had to be Mayweather.
"Who cares about skills?"
WOW...:lol1:

I think spots 3 to 10 are wide open in the current pound for pound list. You could reasonably throw in fighters like Williams, Martinez, Marquez, Donaire, even the Klitschko brothers for those places. Only Mayweather and Pacquiao are a "lock" at 1 and 2.
Every fighter doesnt have to like Floyd Mayweather to be considerd good.
I.E.- Pacquiao
"LOL...WTF"
lame.

ESPN seems to base their poll position on the fact that Williams can beat anyone within the 147-160 range.
Now I'm not saying that this would or wouldn't happen, but you have to actually fight at 147 in order for this to be believable.
Let stick with the facts.
He beat Marg, Quintana in the rematch, Winky, Martinez and Cintron.
Who cares about skills. How skilled was Aaron Pryor?
LOL......wtf?
