Do public weigh-ins cost anything to attend?

You may or may not know these guys, depending on where you're from, but I went to the weigh-in for the 1st Martin Rogan-Sam Sexton fight for the Commonwealth HW title. It was this time last year and I talked to Roggie for about 10 minutes after it, he was a gent. I also had a quick word with Sam Sexton, Billy Joe Saunders and James DeGale. I don't know if weigh-ins would normally be like this... I got to stay longer than everyone else because a guy from my gym was fighting on the card.

So it's only open to the press, they said over the phone. :sad1: Damn. If I was nearer, I'd go and have a butchers anyway to see if I could catch anyone on the way in/way out...

find out what hotel ur fav boxer is stayin and wait there. thats ur likely chance of meeting them. Ah, good idea. That's inspired me to go into full-on stalker mode. :laff2:

They should pay people to attend those things. Boooorinng stuff.

i was at the pac-clottey weigh in. there was about 3000 pinoys and 10 ghanians. i had to cheer for clottey cuz i felt bad I'm guessing there was no meet-and-greet opportunites afterwards? :p

I'm still trying to think of stuff to ask him if he actually does pop up for a signing. Maybe I'll just bring along an Aussie flag, my el-cheapo Tornado gloves and shut the hell up whilst he signs the lot. :D (Well, I'll have to get in a "MIKEY, YOU'RE THE GREATEST!!!" in there somewhere...) Will do, although not if I'm in them. I'm all incognito like that. :wnk1: I remember when Kat fought Casamayor he was training here in Venice Beach and I found out the last day and I wasn't able to make it to see him out there. I was bummed out. That fight was one hell of a fight. Can't believe it ended the way it ended. I was like :wtf1:
