Does shane mosley beat anymore elite fighters? Does shane mosley retire? Does shane mosley go the roy jones jr. way? These things will decide how great of a win it was for Floyd.
If shane continues on & beats elite fighters, then everybody who said shane was shot were wrong & ALL CREDIT MUST BE THEN GIVEN TO FLOYD. IT WILL GO DOWN AS A GREAT WIN.
But if shane retires, or fights but continues to look old & shot & gets beat by fighters who have no business in beating shane then the win will be placed in its proper context.
Which one do you think is more likely to happen? I would bet the latter.
Only time will surely tell how great it was of a win for floyd.
the thread bumps have proven this is the fight boxingscene was slobbering over because they thought shane had a chance.
but once the fight was signed that's when the old and inactive talk started because they knew shane wasn't the man to get the job.
and the same will happen when manny an floyd sign to fight each other.
I disagree, the win was a great name to have on a record. Only Cotto, Vernon Forrest(2x) and Winky Wright(2x) have that honor but no matter how much you want it to be a great win, you have to admit a year inactivity, an advanced age and several losses in his last dozen fights makes it a fair-to-good win. And most of us were telling you this before the fight.
What you guys were saying was that floyd was ducking him, it wasn't until the fight was signed that did old an inactive stuff started.
did you watch the fight?
how many times did emmanuel steward say shane is looking his age, shane looks old tonight, in the broadcast?
i counted at least 5 times he said it.
dont count nsb floyd haters as everybody.
The vegas 4-1 odds in favor for floyd disagrees with you.
you know what Floyd said before the fight, he said this:" I never get the credit when i beat them, there is always an excuse, when i beat De la hoya they said he was old, when i beat marquez they said he was too small, if i will beat mosley they will say he was over the hill. There is always an excuse when i beat someone" and Floyd is right i thought people will give him the credit that he deserves if he beats Shane, Floyd not just won the fight he dominated Shane, and this shows how good is he. Dude if it was Pacquaio and not Mayweather all of people here would say what a beautiful win for Manny. There is one of the reasons why i'm not posting here, there is so much dumb and biased people over here.

No Shane was the champ and had kkayoed Margarito in his last fight
if Shane retires i will say Floyd send him into retirment, and not that bullshit that you wrote.Floyd's win over Mosley was great, from round 3 and further Floyd neutralized all activities from Mosley. Shane wasn't capable to do something not because Mosley was old and tired but because Floyd didn't let him doing that.He was frustrated and justlet it go, Floyd must get a huge credit for that. So many people here that Shane gonna do this and Shane gonna do that but Shane didn't, and now you wanna to discredit Floyd's win over Mosley by saying that mosley was old, it's not working like that.

even at 29, Morales lost his next 4 fights after beating Manny in their first fight.
1 to Zahir, 2 to Manny and another to David Diaz. So him being 29 really meant nothing seeing as how he couldn't win a fight after his first fight with Pacman
em aint pac's best win.
its a good win just like floyd's win vs shane was a good win but not a great signature legacy defining win.
see morales vs pac 2.
morales was doing great in the first half of the fight vs pacquiao (actually was winning the fight) until pacquiao overtook him in the second half. Morales was 29. shane is 39.

I give all the credit to Floyd right now, he just dismantled a still game fighter who was considered a great threat to him. But, yes, I think what Mosley does now will enhance or decrease the value of that win. I think Mosley would beat Berto and that would be considered as a bounce back for him, getting the W.B.C. tittle and line up for a last big fight maybe against Margarito, Williams or Clottey, that would make Floyd's win look better.
does manny get credit for the morales wins??he lost to raheem badly after mannys first win and basically beat no 1 else

Bueller?...Bueller?
sure why not? those are not pac's best wins yet some think this is floyd's best win. a 39year old fighter 1 year & 5 months off who almost KHTFO. :scared:
have the decency to take people who you have on ignore list off ignore if you are gonna post on their thread bernardo.
so if cotto getand oscar retired after fighting manny..does he deserve credit for that
wtf you talkin about what ifs larry? pac's win vs oscar is being shitted on by flomos already even though pac was a huge underdog going in. cotto aint retired & is fighting for a 154 lb title.
cant you be honest?
If shane was 30 years old & floyd dominates him, i wouldnt be asking this question.
Shane is 39 & gassed after almost ktfo the alleged greatest defensive fighter of our time. Its a very reasonable question.
so i guess everybody just wants to ignore the fact that shane was 38 going on 39 on fight night & have not fought for 1 year & 5 months & it showed in the fight when he was gassed by the 4th round?
You guys act as if shane continuing to fight & beat elite fighters is a sure thing. at least be honest with yourselves & leave some wiggle room.
What do you think is more likely to happen?
Shane staying elite & beating elite fighters?
Or shane continuing his downward spiral or retiring?
Which one is the more likely outcome?
smh at some of you acting like floyd is bernard hopkins in his prime who causes fighters physically debilitating fights. When did floyd become the body snatcher?:bsflag:
So you're asking us a hypothetical question in hopes to getting some positive feedback? In terms of what's the most possible outcome who knows?
You're talking like Shane's been on a downward spiral prior to his fight with Floyd. People were raving about his victory against Margarito and were calling him Floyd's "biggest threat" before the fight happened. Now that he gets dominated, he's on a downward spiral? Really?? For real??
Since we're asking hypothetical questions here let me ask one myself.
If Shane comes back and beats a top 5-10 WW what are you going to tell yourself then? Say he defeats Berto, Cotto or even Angulo @ 154..What will you say then?
NOT NECESSARILY,you know there is one option your forgot. What if floyd actually took all the fight outta mosley?? We did see that with HATTON, who struggled with his very next bout after the mayweather fight only to then be knocked out cold by PACQUIAO.
FLOYD GETS PROPS REGARDLESS AS SHANE ASKED FOR THAT ASS WHOOPEN, HE WAS ON ESPN SAYING MAYWEATHER WAS SCARED OF HIM ETC. HE INTERRUPTED MAYWEATHERS interview after MARQUEZ, he asked for that beat down last saturday.
what if margarito, old age, the long layoff, and the lack of PEDS did that? or does mosley usually gas after 2 rounds spinmaster?
I think Shane could still beat guys like Clottey, Margarito again, and still be competitive with Cotto & Berto even though I think a fight with Berto would be an extremely risky fight now since Berto is extremely fast like Mayweather and would let his hands go more, so if Berto performs up to his tremendous potential, maybe he stops Mosley if Mosley fights like he did against Floyd all confused and sh*t not knowing what to do.
I say rematch Margarito or fight Clottey. 2 very winnable fights IMO and depending on how good he wins, if he stills looks impressive then fight Berto but if he still looks like he lost a step, then I say call it a day and leave on a win!
At the end of the day though, if he loses I don't think anything will take away from that amazing performance by Floyd just because Mosley was so dominant against Margarito. It will just show further that he's done IMO.

I still think Mosley is a top 5 WW. He can take on a rematch with Cotto(if cotto moves back down) or get tha fight with Berto and see where he's really at.
I think he still has the tools to beat just about anyone at 147. I'd really like to see him fight Berto like he was supposed to(but not if he's gonna be gone for over a year.) Another guy I think would be a good match-up against Mosley would be Angulo if Mosley goes up to 154.

Does Mayweather get credit for coming back after 2 years off and beating JMM and Mosley in back to back fights?
