Teddy Atlas had just spoken about this issue (literally seconds ago), that Mosley's poor performance may have been due to him not being able to use PEDS in the fight with Floyd.
Watchu think?
He did have two training camps back-to-back. And, it was two FULL training camps. Because, the Berto fight got canceled a couple weeks before the fight.
So it was two full camps. He could of peaked too early. He could of left his fight in thy gym. While he was sparring for Floyd there was reports that Naazim Richardson nephew was putting it on Shane.
So him over training is a possibility.
Yeah, the same exact thing happened to him before he fought Mayorga when Zab Judah bailed on him. I don't know how long he trained for the Judah fight. But I think both incidences could've had an accumlative effect in his fight with Floyd.
Shane loss because he was looking for the bog right hand and Floyd adjusted plain and simple.
thats natural since shane doesnt have the stamina to fight for 12rds when he fought floyd
i lost a lot of respect for atlas with his comments. i don't think that he needed to go that route, fully disrespectful to mosley and mayweather.
with a fight so closely scrutinized and with mosley being under the microscope since the balco case, it's a lame shot at getting attention and trying to be controversial.
basically the way it came across and sounded like to me, is he just took a shit on mosley's whole career saying he was nothing but a cheat. thats a shame, and is disrespectful, and a sign that atlas has no tact.
it's like he's doing this shit so he can keep his job through shock value by making comments as such.
wouldn't the simple fact that mosley couldn't even draw out a piss for the last test because he was so dehydrated, that had nothing to do with mosley being flat in the fight? or ring rust? **** he could've been overtrained! for all we know, he was training for berto, then went right into training for floyd! or he could've been psyched out mentally for the fight because he wanted to do good and out thought himself.
my point, is there are these facts, tangible facts that we can report and go to, why didn't atlas bring any of those up? but instead he went for the career killer, grade A douche bag IMHO.
or what about the fact that margarito is a easy to hit guy and can be out boxed easily, it's margaritos chin and conditioning that gets him through fights, but mosley was hitting him way more than cotto did and margarito's confidence wasn't the same in the mosley fight and that was obvious as the fight unfolded. i'm not accusing margarito of cheating against cotto, but he was a completely different fighter.
same with shane, the only thing is shane had a guy in there that is hard to hit, and one of the best counter punchers of our era, maybe even in the all times, the fight strategy was different, and mosley let floyd dictated the pace after the second round. mosley fought floyds fight and tried to beat floyd at his game, which isnt mosley's game.
those points should've been brought up, not that set up hit piece on mosley, to further the agenda of taking blood.
everyone needs to put the pressure on the commissions, then the fighters once a set rule is in place.
i think atlas stooped to a new low..............
not necessary.......
THE NAME IS GOD-FR33 FROM MKE! I've been apart of boxing for 25yrs. and I'm 29 now. Boxing is and always will be a huge part of my life. TEDDY went to far with his comments about MOSLEY the same way MAYWEATHER did before the fight. My response was based on what TEDDY said MAN. To call me full of shit goes a bit far. FLOYD is the one who out of nowhere broke a law when he accused MANNY of using STEROIDS. He will LOSE the lawsuit if MANNY doesn't drop it. I think that MOSLEY is clean and his body reflects that. I think MANNY is also clean. These fighters are tested 24 days before and immediately after EVERY FIGHT! I like MAYWEATHER as a fighter. Who wouldn't like watching what he does in the ring? I can't stand him as a person. No decent HUMAN BEING SHOULD. He's an ASSHOLE. I think a fight between him and MANNY should be won by MAYWEATHER, but MANNY is special and has the skills to outpoint him. If he wants to prove himself as THE GREATEST EVER as he claims, go and fight PAUL WILLIAMS or SERGIO MARTINEZ! The only reason he fought DE LA HOYA and MOSLEY is because they were at the end of their careers. He's very smart when it comes to picking his opponents. No way he beats a PRIMED DE LA HOYA or MOSLEY. MOSLEY had no STAMINA, RELFEXES were shot, he couldn't let his hands go on a regular basis. And on top of that, he had been out of the ring for a year and a half! And he was training for BERTO for 7weeks of intense work. And he was training his son as well. MAYWEATHER is the truth but find out WHY before you ACCUSE MAN. I'm a fair fan and not some BANDWAGON RIDER like some of these other FAKES on here. Like I said, the name is GOD-FR33 FROM MKE and you are?
Bullshit, Atlas needs to STFU. Mosley is clean, leave him alone.
This is what I'm saying. Both fighters gave the fans a fight everyone wanted to see. Floyd put on one of his greatest performances and Shane gave it his all. Both also agreed to testing, yet its still not enough?
Full credit to Floyd for this victory and I actually think comments like Atlas actually takes away from Floyd dominate performance (for reasons others have already mentioned).
To further confirms to the thought that even if people go out of there way to prove they are clean, @ssholes like Atlas still wont be satisfied. Not only that but this is also an attempt to put an asterisk on Floyds win...smh
No like this one man.
He tired in the middle rounds and got a second wind late in the fight.
not saying I disagree with u jrose, but he could have gotten a second wind against Floyd but due to him being mentally defeated, we will never know.
Just some food for thought; when bro nazim asked him to repeat back his question in between the 10th and 11th round (not sure if thats the exact rounds btw) nazim was doing so to see if shane was tired. Shane wasn't breathing hard, which led me to think he got his second wind (like in other fights). Only prob was that he was mind fukked by Floyd and had basically given up mentally a that point.
Maybe I'm wrong though, but that's just my opinion and how I saw things.
**** atlas!!!!!!
I watched the telecast last night and was wondering what would make him say that? If that's the case, you can also say that FLOYD was on roids and that since he brought in his OWN COMMISSION, he didn't let them take blood from him and only MOSLEY had blood taken 11times! That's so STUPID and uncalled for! I think MOSLEY's age, the fact that he's been in the gym since he beat MARGACHEETO, and the fact he trained 7weeks preparing for BERTO, all attributed to his DEMISE against FLOYD. FLOYD did what he had to do but who knows what he did behind the scenes leading up to the fight with this FAKE COMMISSION of his. Who the **** does he think he is???? Trying to bring in a commission that has NEVER been used in the sport before? The N.S.A.C. does it's job and it's a slap in the face to them. They catch fighters cheating all the time so W.T.F.? If he never fights MANNY, it's all his fought thnking he's smarter than he actually is. They should have fought in MARCH but MAYWEATHER reniged after already signing the contract for the fight. At least the elite welterweights will fight ANYONE! He's the only one that won't.
So he is implying that Mosley has taken it in ever other good performance he had? I guess Balco missed a shipment before the Wright, Forrest, and Mayorga fights too?
Teddy Atlas had just spoken about this issue (literally seconds ago), that Mosley's poor performance may have been due to him not being able to use PEDS in the fight with Floyd.

I think Atlas is a moronic punch drunk fool. Surprised this guy is still on ESPN, whatta douche bag.
Shane appeared more tired in this fight then he really was cause he did`nt throw alot of punches cause he was Afraid of getting countered.
That early? After four rounds he was already scared and breathing hard? OK man...
He kept talking about not overtraining, so if he did, I don't know what to tell you. Also did you notice how small Mosley against Floyd, in comparison to how he looked against Margarito?
Different fight Margas he needed to be strong.Against May he felt speed would help him win.He look the same in the May fight as he did in the Cotto fight Slim.
I doubt Mosley been on roids his whole career cause he looked pretty slow in the Cotto fight and he did`nt look that sharp in the Mayorga fight and he tired quickly in both those fights.
Atlas is just an idiot.I want be surprised if he`s trying to get publicity for himself or trying to discredit Floyd. He did say he hopes Mosley knocks out Floyd you know.
No like this one man.
He tired in the middle rounds and got a second wind late in the fight.
Mosley lost a lot of points in my book with the way he went out that night. I hate to say it, but he's gotta go out on a good note for me to really have respect for his career. Every elite undefeated boxer he's lost to. I wouldn't be kicking dirt on him if he didn't do his best to try to fall apart like Zab Judah. But it's like he showed no heart at all in that fight.
You're not scaring me with your little temper tantrum my man. I've read your reasoning behind your position, but I've dismissed it because it's petty and doesn't hold weight. You sound like a crybaby mad at someone for expressing opinions that you don't want to hear. The fact of the matter is that Atlas was asked to express his thoughts and feelings on the fight, and that's what he did. You don't have to agree with how he feels about what he saw because it was his opinion, not yours. He didn't come out and accuse Mosley of anything, he simply offered a possible explanation for how Mosley looked during the fight. It's quite possible that this was the first fight that Mosley has entered the ring PED-free for awhile, and that's the reason he looked gassed, sluggish, or whatever. I've already said that I don't necessarily agree with that explanation because I think that all of Mayweather's opponents eventually look like Mosley did when they fight him. That doesn't change the fact that Atlas's speculation could possibly be true.
I think that the real reason that people like you have a problem with Atlas's comments is because they highlight the need for more stringent drug testing in boxing, and Pacquiao(this website's hero) is currently on the wrong side of that argument.
Sorry bro, but as much as you want me to, Im not gonna go back n forth with you. Like I said, coming on this site with the sole purpose of starting flame wars is some loser sh1t. Have a nice day and get a life......peace

I think this is the real reason right here. I mean you can say you don't wanna overtrain, but fact is he peak for the berto bout and had to start over again (in training). This is the biggest fight of his career, so he had to balance between preparing to be at his best vs not overtraining. Floyd was a huge threat, so as much as he didn't wont to overtrain, I believe he still did, just based on Floyd being as great as he is and Shane knowing he had to take his game to another level.
We know why YOU refuse to believe it, but the fact of the matter is that he was in training for the Berto fight too.
He basically did 2 training camps back to back.
exactly. and im not saying this to discredit floyd. like i said before, it was the best time for floyd to fight shane. they knew whats gonna happen and they took advantage of it
