I think so, Cotto was very competitive the first 3 rounds against a very fast fighter like Manny. While Mosley he wasn't all that competitive except in the 2nd round when he landed those nice shots on Floyd. Other then that Mosley was too afraid to let his hands go. I know Floyd was one of the reasons he was afraid, because Floyd kept countering him. But Cotto was letting his hands go even though he got countered because of it sometimes.
the mosley floyd fought is better than the cotto pacquiao fought....this was discussed before the fight.
what happened saturday, was just the result of an immense gap in talent. mosley is not over the hill, put him in there with any other WW, and he looks like a completely different fighter.
chris mannix, from S.I. said it best, " a couple weeks ago mosley was the best WW in the world....floyd beats him thoroughly, and now shane is old, and over the hill...mind-boggling."
So you mean Mosley gassed out and heavily breathing on his mouth after round two was the result of Floyd immense talent?:haha:
Cotto looked electric in the first few rounds. He just got tired trying to match Pacquiao's pace and that second knockdown scared the shit out of him. But for those first three and a half, he looked almost as fast and was doing a good job boxing with Pac-Man.
I think Mosley is the better welterweight right now and I think he would beat Cotto in a close fight, if they fight again. I want the fight to take place at 154 if they fight again because I don't want Mosley to get tired after 4 rounds.
wrong, my dude...
that PED shit didn't really catch fire until manny declined the tests.....
until then, it was all "shit talk."
manny declining those tests, gave those rumors life.
Floyd Sr said it right before the Cotto fight.
And, after the Cotto fight Bernardo and posters of his ilk were making threads on here that Pac was OST. Long before Pac declined of taking it for Floyd.
the only argument i hear against shane, is his age....
hopkins is older than roy jones, but will anybody say roy is the more quality win right now?
the answer is no.
b/c roy has been beaten to shit recently, and although past prime, hopkins has looked better than rjj.
what you are doing, is grasping at straws, as to why mosley could've possibly looked ineffective against floyd.....
1) 38 - FACT
2) layoff - FACT
3)peaked too early? - guess
4)affected by drug testing? - guess
5) beaten in camp? - guess
cotto v. pacquiao
1) cotto was beaten down in 2 of 3 fights leading in - FACT
see what i'm saying?
guys will dig, and dig, and dig for anything to discredit floyd for beating shane.
manny beating cotto, big difference. notice, i never even mentioned the cotto being forced to make 145 shit.......
Again Shane didn't look elite in 2 of his last 3 fights.
There is no big difference if you just want to point out the negatives. You can do it on both sides.
I remember reading a lot of stuff about Pac being on PED's with Cotto, about Cotto being shot being ruined by Margarito. about Cotto being weight drained due to the catch=weight.
A lot and I mean a lot of people especially the majority of Floyd fans. Down played that Pac win. Not all Floyd fans but a lot and they still down play it. Just like not all Pac fans down play Floyd win.
wrong, my dude...

I can easily point out that Shane was a year older than the last time he look great and was coming off the longest layoff his career. I mean that is a fact right?
I can easily say that Shane had back-to-back training camps that he peaked to early he left his fighting in the gym. I mean their were reports before the fight that Shane was struggling against Richardson son. That he was getting beat.
I can ask the question on why Shane got so damn tired so damn quick when there was OST? He didn't get tired that quick against Vernon or Winky. I mean he was already breathing hard at the end of the 4th round. Floyd wasn't that amazing that early to have Shane that tired. And, lets not forget it was Shane who refused blood testing against Judah. But, accepted it when he got the largest purse of his career.
The way you guys are doing with Cotto. Then all this points that I am making should be valid too. And, should be taking into account if you going to take the Cotto shit into account.

this ^^^.
only problem is, there weren't nearly as many ppl downplaying manny's win over cotto, as there are downplaying floyd's win over mosley.
just look at the poll results..... :nonono:
before the fight, there were threads posted as to who would win today? mosley or cotto? the threads overwhelmingly favored mosley.
mayweather dismantles shane, and now the answer is 2-1 in favor of cotto.
NSB dudes are funny.....

u get my point then.....
btw. mayweather-pacquiao, it all comes down to a RESPECT thing with you guys.
there is really NO ARGUMENT as to who looked better in their previous fights, cotto going into pacquiao, or mosley going into mayweather? most ppl would agree, mosley looked better before fighting mayweather. no argument there.
so that leads me to pacuqiao vs. floyd.
manny is viewed as dominant, great, non-stop, all action, etc.....so when he dominates an opponent, in your minds, it just underlines his greatness....
floyd is viewed as a ducker, runner, coward, etc.....so when he dominates an opponent, he still doesn't get the credit. you guys look at his opponents and make excuses as to WHY mayweather SHOULD HAVE WON. with manny, it's the opposite. you guys look at HIM after a victory, and praise his greatness.
not fair, and you dudes need to be more objective. that's why i appreciated merchant's and steward's comments following the fight, b/c they looked at mayweather, and gave credit to his skills. too many dudes on NSB, do the opposite. you guys acknowledge his skills, then downplay them at the next moment. shit has to stop.
look, there are already threads being made as to floyd being "bigger" than manny. so manny is so great, but the excuses are being put into place, so if mayweather DOES beat him, we'll look and say manny is smaller....
at some point, you have to look around, and say, "who can floyd fight and beat at this point, to receive credit?"
IMO, he'll have to move up and fight guys like abraham, dirrell, ward, dawson....

Shane has more raw power and better chin than Cotto. Are you going to argue that point?
Both, is just as impressive as they dominated the top WWs. Stop the bullshit...

Why the double standards though?
Again making excuses to try to diminish a fighter and make the other one look greater. It really is disgusting how some of you guys get down.
First of all anybody who watch the fight knows it was close between Clottey-Cotto. It could of gone either way.
That is like me bringing up that a washed up Mayorga went life and death with Mosley. I can easily say that Shane didn't look elite at all in 2 of his last 3 fights as well.
u get my point then.....

PAC has better offence/output than PBF.........two can play that game.................whats more spectacular a former flyweight knocking down a WW twice.......chase him......and the fight being stopped?......or a former SFW............not running .....and dominating a WW?..........NO???
Shane has more raw power and better chin than Cotto. Are you going to argue that point?
Both, is just as impressive as they dominated the top WWs. Stop the bullshit...
round one was an indication on how good cotto was..............Cotto landed more significant shot.............than Mosley......save for round two........................PAC chasing a legit good WW wasnt even deem........realistic...........such as FLOYD standing and outboxing shane.................................the KDs clinches it for PAC imo
Well that is because Floyd has the better D no?
b/c truth be told, cotto was beaten in 2 of his last 3 fights before that fight....i mean, he ended up edging clottey on the cards, but whoever watched the fight knows how it went down.
mosley, on the other hand, was coming off 2 KO wins, and probably the biggest win of his career, before he stepped into the ring w/ mayweather.
Why the double standards though?
Again making excuses to try to diminish a fighter and make the other one look greater. It really is disgusting how some of you guys get down.

I mean excuses can fly from both sides.
Because Cotto also looked mildly crap-esque in his previous fight.
Against a top WW no? And, he won right? Not even Margarito dominated Cotto they way Pac did right?
So what are we takling about here?
How would Cotto have looked in the late rounds if Manny was attacking him the way that Floyd was still coming after Shane? Honestly.
Manny was standing in the middle of the ring as if to say "come on, let's fight". Floyd didn't do that. He went to Shane.
Cotto kept getting away from the ropes every time Pacquaio got to him. Floyd went to Shane, but he didn't throw a barrage of punches.
mosley, on the other hand, was coming off 2 KO wins, and probably the biggest win of his career, before he stepped into the ring w/ mayweather.
Best performance, but DLH was his biggest win.
By who's rankings? Yours?
It was about even man.
You guys can say that Shane looked like crap cuz Floyd made him look like crap. And, I can agree with that.
But, why don't you guys mention that Cotto look like crap because Pac made him look that way?
I would love to see Cotto and Shane fight.
Just make sure in the contract it says that Cotto has to come in at 145 and Shane has to take OST. And, lets see who really is better.
b/c truth be told, cotto was beaten in 2 of his last 3 fights before that fight....i mean, he ended up edging clottey on the cards, but whoever watched the fight knows how it went down.

yes i do...................Cotto wasnt dominated..........after the 5th round...............
Cotto was never as dangerous early in the fight like Shane was either. I mean anybody can play that game too. They're about even it don't matter what anybody says.
