what was wrong with de la hoya? well aside from pacquiao fighting a great fight, oscar did not look like himself at all, he looked extremely pale and weak in the ring. anyone have any inside scoop on what was going on with him? did he overtrain, weight drained, or just a shot fighter?
did you know a man landed on the moon?
LMAO Good one
Oscar has been a part time fighter since his 2nd loss to Mosley. He also hadn't fought at 147 in 8 or 9 years. Also, he can't handle southpaws.
And most importantly, Pacquiao boxed a masterpiece. That performance was a work of art.
Thank you I'm glad you answered this EASY question lol, Oscar was finished before the bell even rang
blah blah, it was as powerful as a jab and you know it. Oscar quit on purpose. I've taken body shot by amateur standouts and olympians and i didn't act like that. That's bullcrap. Just like when B-Hop got hit behind the head against Roy.
Bodyshots to the liver? If so, thats impressive.
Maybe you should teach Ciso Morales. :)

ODLH said he was in the best shape of his life.
That wouldn't surprise me since he quit on purpose against Hopkins. Mofo took Mosley's bombs and quit from a jab, a fukking half ass JAB to the body.
DLH was already past prime, but also weight-drained.

oscar was a dead man walking..im sure he put a big bet on manny since manny was such a huge underdog and made a killing off of that fight...that was his retirment fight

agreed on pacquiao boxing a masterpiece, but im not sure of whats true or not, ive heard freddy roach said that de la hoya had ivs in his dressing room before the fight because his corner was trying to rehydrate him, he weighed in at 145 and came into the fight at 145 as well
I asked him that question and yes he said he could see needle marks from IV Oscar took
I also asked David Avila about how Oscar was going about losing the weight (using a lot of running and trying to keep his weight at 147 all through the camp)
he said long distance runners (I think he used to run) do this a lot but the after affects are that its actually hard to keep weight on once your body because so accustomed to maintaining that weight. He said he could see it being true but also said it can sap your strength and not idea for boxing in his opinion
mind you this was before Oscar actually weighed in because we were discussing why Oscar was so proud that he was at or around 147

And, that was a damn shame cuz I would of enjoyed watching him fight Margarito...
I said this a few months ago one of my dream match ups was for Oscar to come out of retirement and fight Edwin Valero at a catch-weight of 142. That would of been awesome.
Oh well.... Hopefully he comes out of retirement and fights Margarito again. Just have Capetillo in Marg corner and keep the commission and Naazim Richardson out of Margarito dressing room.
i caught it live, it was my last weekend before deployment, and i caught the press conference in san fran too..and i talked to roach, nacho, arum, joel de la hoya, and a brief word with oscar. and i thought that oscar would have made it more competitive, but it was complete domination
Oscar was drained as hell. walking zombie
seriously i felt bad for him.
I still watch that fight over and over and over...
I really really really enjoyed that fight...
Matter of fact I am going to watch again right now
