Tyson-Holyfield I, who did you pick?

I'm so suprised by the poll results being that one in five of us thought Holyfield would win!!!! I couldn't find a single soul who felt Holyfield had a chance at the time and everyone was discussing the fight beforehand. Its easy to be wise in retrospect!

When the fight was first a possibility at the start of the 90's I did have a fancy that Holyfield would win but by the time the fight actually happened I felt that Holyfield was slipping faster than Tyson.

Everyone thought Tyson! The man had looked great again against Bruno and Seldon (even though Seldon could barely stand up in a breeze!). Whereas Holyfield had the heart complaint rumours, the strange low energy Moorer loss, the Bowe knockout loss, the crusty performance against Czyz, plus he was older and more battle worn than Tyson. People feared for Holyfield's life..........no one but Ron Borges gave him a prayer and anyone picking Holyfield to win surely hadn't seen the Moorer, Bowe or Czyz fights.

I picked Tyson in every fight of his career lol

not only did I pick Holyfield to win this over Tyson..I also picked Lewis to win over Tyson..Tyson just didnt seem focused to me for this fight with Evander.. Lewis was an easy pick tho. Evander on the other hand blew my mind.

Picked Holyfield my arse! Whether you were 10 or 60, you most likely picked Tyson. No doubt some people thought Commander Vander was no push over, but very few would have actually picked him to win. ...Now back to the guys who bench 600lbs.

I didnt really know much about Evander back then. I remember Holmes also favoured Holyfield over Tyson as well Yup, he did. Holmes said, "Holyfield's gonna take him into deep waters and drown him." Ron Borges picked Holyfield as well. but trust me, if I had seen either his fight with Czyz or Bowe III, I wouldn't have picked him lol.

Lews was picked by everyone against the shot Tyson. Evander was said to have heart trouble and was stopped by Bowe. Tyson was stopping bums and his hype machine worked wonders. Most people picked Tyson. I was only a teenager at the time, so i ate up the hype of Tyson. Im suprised so many people picked Holyfield. They must have been very astute kids, or they are know in their mid-40's.

I was still a kid at the time and thought Tyson was unbeatable. So Tyson.

Why? I picked Iron mike basicaaly because I was a hardcore fan of his I hadn't seen Evander's bouts with Czyz or Bowe III so I wasn't as concerned as others (ignorance is bliss). I always liked Evander over Mike, even in 91.
