If Toney can stuff the take down attempts and stays standing he can win. But It does not seem like Toney is very serious about the whole thing. When the UFC guys dive in low for the legs from out of punching distance it does not give you a chance to punch them so will be tough for Toney.

I have a feeling the ufc want rid of Couture and might ask him to stand.

If Couture wins it doesn't really make boxing look bad because it would be an old, out of shape boxer losing in another sport where he had no experience in. If Couture somehow manages to lose, it would look terrible for MMA, despite Couture being an old fighter. That's right, Plus if Toney manages to stay on his feet and land some punches and ko Couture it does fck all for his legacy.

Well he will probably get beat anyways, at least when he loses to Couture it will be to a former champion and not some random wrestler who just got out of college. Tony is just looking for some cash, I don't think he is even seriously training for this.

Toney doesn't even train MMA, doesn't know kicks, jiujitsu, and wrestling. I'd probably tap him out in less than 30 seconds; let alone a pro HW like COuture. you have a point but only becuase james toney is 41 years old and he doesnt have the proper mindset he did a few years back like the vassilly jirov fight and that was like the last fight i seen him in decent shape along with the holyfield fight but this adventure to UFC is crazy and i think james toney better train harder than hell on that wrestling,ground game stuff or he might be getting his lights turned out but if this were 1991 james toney would use randy couture for toilet paper and knock him out for good!!!!

They're trying to even up the stakes. Mercer KO'd Sylvia and now they think that if Couture can beat up an old, fat, Toney that they will somehow be even. Rubbish of course.

It's embarrassing enough for MMA that an old, washed up boxer who no one is interested in and who doesn't even have the dedication to keep himself in shape can get a main card fight in the UFC despite not having a single MMA fight. Makes it look unprofessional and a freak show. I agree! Its more like a sideshow. Still doesnt change the fact that JT is going to get dominated by Randy. JT is way out of his league this time. Even more embarrassing is the fact that Randy Couture is pushing 50yrs old!
