First off yes it was good win for Floyd no doubt but lets consider the facts.
1. Shane gassed out early
2. Shane was an aging fighter at 38 and trained earlier for the Berto fight
3. Shane did not move his head, stick and move etc.
4. Shane threw a lazy jab that had no effect.
These are all facts in Shanes fight against Floyd...
I'd give Floyd credit if he fought a fighter who would have been competitive. This is such an overrated win, it's ridiculous. All Shane really had was a punchers chance. No way in hell was Shane going to be able to box Floyd to a decision. I think the 24/7 series brainwashes people into thinking the hand-picked opponents have a chance like Marquez and Hatton, haha.
Is there anyone at 147 (besides Pacquiao) who could be competitive with Mayweather? If Mayweather fought Cotto, Margarito, Clottey, or Berto he would probably own them as well. I know a lot of people are high on Paul Williams, but if he fought Floyd at 147 he probably wouldn't be any different. Mayweather fought the guy who was the consensus best fighter in the division besides Pacquiao and made him look silly.
Well well well look what I found.
Floyd NEEDS to fight Mosely, Cotto, or Margarito a legitimate Welterweight.. Anyone else would be pointless. Oh ya Paul Williams too..

When Floyd STEPS HIS GAME UP and signs a deal with Shane, then we can do comparisons but again.. Floyd dont want none of Shane either...

Pretty good cop out excuse again by Floyd. He never insisted on these test prior to a Pacquiao fight and whats the point of giving Shane the test seriously, he admitted to using Steriods anyways.. so even if Shane is clean now he still used roids during his career so if Shane does beat Floyd, Floyd can say Shane was on roids in the past.. so its all BS and pointless..

How come people keep giving Pac credit for his wins over Hatton and De la Hoya but dont give Mayweather the same credit even though he beat hem first? The win over Cotto is a great victory for Pac no doubt, but Mayweather's victory over Mosely is just as great. If you bring up Mosely's age then you have to also mention Pac's catch weights clauses.
Jermain taylor isn't 38 and he usually doesn't fight elite P4P fighters after an 18 month period of inactivity.
I really dont want to hear that. Thats crap. Taylor has bad stamina and no one says a word. These same people said Floyd would never fight him now he does and beats him up its a problem.

It's a good win, but I don't think it was good enough to put him in the number one spot. Pacquaio beats De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, and Clottey within a little over a year and Floyd beats a small Marquez and an old Mosley and you get the Pound-4-Pound number one spot for that? Wladimir Klitschko deserves more than Floyd because he CLEANED OUT THE ENTIRE DIVISION! Did Floyd do that? No.

all of which are only exposed because he fought a supreme athlete who could expose him.
"Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny," Roach says. "I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn't enough money there, and second, you're too good a fighter."

Grandpa Shane really showed his age in that fight. Gassing after two rounds, flat-footed, no head movement, no power, no nothing.
You gotta hand to Mayweather, he knows who and when to fight opponents. He fights bums to show how "skilled" he is, and he fights has-beens to show how "great" he is.
Yeah he's 38 and hasn't fought in 16 months. If that was Pac who beat Shane instead of Mayweather, people would say Pac just beat another flat-footed, past his prime, one dimensional brawler with no head movement. And they would add weight drained there just for the hell of it and say Vernon Forrest ruined him 10 years ago.
Then again people have bashed Floyd to the point of ridiculousness. This was a great performance. Even at 38, Mosley was the top Weltereight and better than anyone on Floyd's resume.
1. Shane shouldve fought smarter rather then blow his load in round 2. How does Floyd get penalized for that? Jermain Taylor gasses all the time and no one takes away from the people who beat him.
2. Shane is and always is in great shape.
3. When has Shane ever moved his head and stick and move? How is that a knock on Floyd?
4. Shane never had a good jab to begin with. Floyd timed up and clowned him. Have you watched Shane fight before May 1st?

Look SSm is my alt fav but how the heck is any of that Floyds Fault?
you fight to win and come in at your best and give your best unless your name is Joshua Clottey
