As I have said and I will state again, Manny's output will be alot lower than his last few fights when he faces Mayweather and his connect percentage will be down.
if an old, no reflex and inept boxer could do that to mayweather....
Land 2 shots and get dominated for 11 out of 12 rounds? Gotcha.
Mayweather takes time to adjust to his opponent.
Adjusting to Pac would take much longer than adjusting to Mosley.
Can Pac make adjustments is the question.
In regard to a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, do you also take into account that a planted counter puncher in Marquez was able to outbox Pac for 24 rounds. Landing more punches, both jabs and power punches, and at a higher connect rate?
marquez is way more offensive than maywetaher, floyd wont throw as many at all as it would keep him too open.
regardless of that pacman has improved a lot since that fight...nobody can block 5-6 combo shots coming from all angles. if floyd does it then he has done something very very special
I've seen a few post like this, notably Osiris. So tell me, what'd you see that made you think Mayweather falls to Pacquiao?
Saturday night showed Pacquiao's team that it is actually possible to draw Floyd out of his shell and fight. If he gets hit that is.
Like Tyson said everyone has plans until they get hit. Floyd Sr confirmed that Floyd was not fighting the game plan instead he went to attack instead letting his head clear for another few rounds and fight safe. Floyd Sr said that was what he would have done.
I think if Pacquiao can hit Floyd, he could well be drawn into a fight which will be good to watch.
I think Floyd would beat Pacquiao a lot easier if he stayed in his shell like his previous fights and box cautiously.
If we see Saturdays version of Floyd who came out to fight, that version stands a bigger chance of losing to Pacquiao. Pacquiao thrives on his opponents attack.
Either way I still see Floyd beating Pacman, no matter which version comes out to fight. He's just technically more proficient compard to the Pacman and physically bigger and stronger.
Still I would love to see how it plays out,.we know anything can happen, well if the fight actually ever gets the go-ahead.
What's the big deal of defeating an inactive blood drained senior citizen?
Bobby Pacquiao will KTFO Mosley that night.
I could actually believe you, imagine mosley who is already gassed out after round 2? bobby pacquiao will have a field day with mosley in route to a tko.
we saw him get rocked and close to getting stopped imo by an over cautios shane who did'nt have the killer instindt that night .....
He was hurt but close to getting stopped is a bit of a stretch. By the end of the 2nd he was backing mosley up and had his balance again. If he would have went down he would have easily beaten the 10 count. It would have been a 10-8 but so what he won all the other rounds.
Floyd was flatfooted in this fight, i see floyd become a little bit slower and i know floyd is hittable. The footspeed will be a huge factor in this fight, I see pac confusing floyd with his footspeed.
Marquez is completely different than Mayweather, and goes to war with his counter punching. And again, Pac won the second fight along with his obvious, if you don't hate you easily see it, improvement.
I didn't see anything that changed my mind in the Mosley fight, which made me more confident in my Pacquiao pick. Floyd still didn't throw combinations and he still doesn't have KO power at welterweight. I think Pacquiao is an animal, and I didn't see what I wanted to see out of Mayweather to change my mind about Pacquiao winning.
youre underrating mosleys chin. mosley has a great chin.

Man, PBF is just made to box. He was trained from age 4 on. Hard to beat someone who has 29 boxing years under his belt. Everything is natural. His defense is nearly impenetrable, because it requires so little movement and easy access to the straight right and left hook on counter punching. His natural gifts of speed, reflexes, and pop do well. He adjust so well. His counter punching ability is like nothing I have seen as far as how natural and easy it is for him. If Manny comes jumping in he will be on his butt from a check left hook to the head. The straight right is open all day as JMM proved. Manny is easy to counter punch as he is a rythmic fighter.
I was watching this video where Floyd discussed how he didn't like to keep rhythm because he didn't like to be predictable. The more I thought about the more I realized how difficult it is to solve Floyd, he is consistently doing things when you don't expect them. He will throw left hooks knowing you'll block it when you run it to his straight right. I hope that Pacman wins but I find it hard to believe that he does. Pac will get countered early and be tentative like every other opponent then he will become mentally broke down when he is very scared to throw punches and getting hit at unexpected times clean as Manny has a very open defense.
JMM is not as technical or athletically gifted with power and speed. His defense isn't as good, JMM won in a lot of our eyes. What do you think a more special fighter in terms of all around skills and ability will do to Pac if JMM did that to Pac.
Pac is solid but he won't get to PBF like Mosley did. He doesn't hit as hard. Pac is like a fully automatic 9 MM, it takes a lot to take down an opponent but he is still lethal. The question is do you think sloppy Pac is going to be able to hit PBF who has one of the more amazing defenses of boxing in the last decade.
PBF KOs Pac around round 9.
do you think floyd will fight the same tactics if he will fight PAC?? floyd will run and clinch whole night if he will fight PAC.. he wont move forward like he did on that fight with ssm...
i actually think he will press the fight. my opinion anyway.
I personally think Floyd and Manny are both small Welterweights, I just think they are so talented that they can make good welterweights look like crap. And to me personally I think both Floyd and Pacquiao looked about 150 fight night. I don't think Either of them are that big, in pics they look huge but if you met either of them in real-life you'd find out that off camera they are tiny.
1. Speed. Not just hand but also footspeed. Although shane has decent hanspeed, he just doesn't have the movement to create angles. Shane just tried feinting but without the lateral movement it's pretty useless as he's just moving forward.
2. Floyd backs up in straight lines. Though Floyd does slips punches, he also backs in straight lines. Against an agressive pressure fighter he could be within punching range.
3. Activity. Floyd usually sets the pace with accurate counter-punching. I don't think he will be comfortable in an high-octane pace. Also this allows opponents like Hatton to steal rounds (specially early rounds) before Floyd controls the pace of the fight and takes over.
4. Chin. Though a good chin, he can be hurt. Again i think he showed good recovery. Up to Pac if he could capitalize if he hurts Mayweather.
Again floyd should be favored over this fight.
I also might add that Pac is a southpaw, and is faster than Floyd.
I have to say that Floyd did put on a clinic against Mosley, but Mosley was nervous man you could tell he was all jittery, and after that right hook and short spell in round 2 he gassed...
And we all know Pac wont gas, he wont let up. Roach will come up with a good Gameplan and Pac will execute like he always does, fact.
Two things. Pac isn't faster than Floyd, and even if he were, it's meaningless as Pac as it's been proven that Pacs speed can be nullified. Also, Zab was supposedly faster than Floyd as well... For a round or two, and then domination ensued.
He didn't gas. He was outsmarted and outboxed. After the second round, there were no longer any openings.
Roach was in his corner for the JMM fight. Pac can't follow game plans when it requires him to box.
1) floyd got wobbled
2) floyd throws potshots or 2 punch combos only.
3) floyd is vulnerable from rounds 1-5.
4) floyd fights better going backwards than forwards
5) floyd doesn't like a strong jab (well no one does)
6) when you exit the pocket, you gotta throw with floyd to catch him or you gotta exit via angles or with your guard up
that's all I got. otherwise floyd is pretty much invincible.

pac beats floyd with an ease! pac has faster feet and a machine gun punches!
we saw him get rocked and close to getting stopped imo by an over cautios shane who did'nt have the killer instindt that night .....
So, what you are saying is that Mosley landed two good punches in the entire 12-round fight. Therefore, Pac can beat Mayweather. Is that correct?
Pac will pressure Floyd the whole fight
whether it will land on his face or his glove, Pac will make sure he won't pull any punches
it's like what i've read on someone's sig here on NSB
"all the time he's boxing, he's thinking"
"all the time he's thinking, im hitting him"
or something like that
