Yeah he lost real bad to Floyd and Pac, but he did OK in 2 rounds with Floyd until he got embarassed and never took a foot backwards for Pac even though he got KD a few times.
I think I respect him more.
Atleast Hatton tried unlike Clottey.
And Hatton also put some good pressure on Floyd early on. Maybe Cortez got him of his game a lil too.
Hatton was a pretty decent boxer (look at his fights before Tszyu) he got into that holding style and it worked for him, but then he came up against Mayweather and he was doing alright for a while until he got tired and desperate. The Mayweather fight obviously took a lot out of him mentally and his punch resistance was on the decline. He changed his style a bit with Mayweather sr and tried to box more, he looked great against Malignaggi but that was because Malignaggi couldn't hurt him. The Pacquiao fight was a disaster and he got completely humiliated, no version of Hatton would have beat Pacquiao but the Hatton that fought Mayweather would have gave a better performance.
Hatton was a good fighter and is overrated by most Brits but underrated by a lot of boxing fans.
Hatton's problem is that he balloons up in weight and has to torture his body to get down to 140. Doing that really hurts his punch resistance. However, his skills are still there. In some ways his skills are better than ever since he can box a little now whereas he used to be just a brawler. Lazcano and Malignaggi are both respectable contenders and Hatton basically won every round of both those fights. If Hatton has a long training camp to get in shape, he should be able to win a belt at 147, especially if he goes after Jan Zaveck's belt.
Mayweather knocked the Confidence out of Hatton, plain and simple. Pac just put the icing on the retirement cake!
I don't know about knocking the confidence out, but he seems to be pretty confident, too confident in fact that he thinks he could bully the pacman thus getting knocked down as early as the first and out in the 2nd.
you're entitled to your opinion, you might be right too. I have a feeling he'll fight one more time however.
I think he will too, but im worried that if he does come back for a farewell fight he may lose again and that could effect him mentally for a while! If the desire to fight again doesnt hit him soon then he may aswell call it a day!
Hatton does need to retire now, there is nothing left for him to do. He got close to the top but couldnt make it to the peak.....hes washed up, thats how i feel about Hatton!

Oh im sorry he beat a bum called lazcano and feathfist Malignaggi! LOL
He needs to sit down somewhere its over for him now!
WTF, where are your world titles?
and yeah most people think he should call it a day including his brother.
It pisses me off when someone like myself who has done not one day of training but feels justified in calling a ligitimate boxer and world champion at two weights (somone who achieved more as an amature boxer than I will in my life) a BUM.
woulda, coulda, shoulda...he fought twice and won both.
why all these red bar guys coming at me?
Okay fine, without the "woulda, coulda, shoulda" its still "Hatton got rocked by an old Lazcano, lost his punch resistance and didn't take care of his body". Is that better?
And I'm not coming at you. I'm defending Hatton if anything, because a
prime Hatton would have destroyed that old Lazcano.
I'm only in the red because the Pac fangirls attacked me when I said Floyd was a better body puncher than Manny, by the way lol

But he almost got KO'ed by Lazcano (who was washed up) in the 7th round with the same exact punch Floyd caught him with and was saved by the ref to tie his shoes. Afterwards he just ran to a decision because he had nothing left. And Paulie never could fight against brawlers, and he has no power. If Diaz had power, he would have destroyed him.
I'm sure his Arreola type diet contributed too.

Hatton won two fights after he fought Mayweather.

The point stands that he won two fights after fighting Mayweather, you can't change that fact as much as you'd like to.

he can do what he likes, he's worth over $100m and doesn't gamble it foolishly unlike some.

I always felt Floyd never tried or needed to fight his best vs Hatton. First couple rounds, he just saw what he was doing and planning then after that, Floyd had him whenever he wanted him.

Two very different fights. Vs Pacquiao he was "happy to be here again". Vs Floyd he was saying "lets hav him!", was younger and a 43-0 undefeated fighter who really thought he'd win.
