Everyone had their predictions on this fight would go. Most picked Floyd to outbox Shane by circling around the ring using his jab and countering Shane. Others picked Shane to pressure Floyd and eventually knock him out. Shanes trainer Nazim Richardson predicted that Shane would punch Floyd in the mouth and he would grow wings, sprout claws and spit fireballs at Shane at which Shane would step on his tail and go underneath to beat him.
BUT nobody predicted that Floyd of all people would stand toe to toe with Shane and walk him down much like Winky Wright did to Shane. Neither Shane nor Nazim expected this "element of surprise" and i think this was threw them off as everyone expected Floyd to pot shot, use his jab, counter, dart in and out, circle Mosley and just simply outbox him. Yes Nazim predicted fireballs but he didn't expect it from close quarters, they expected it from a distance. Much props should go to team Mayweather for this strategy as throughout all the talks of Shane being suspectible to the jab no-one expected Mayweather to walk Shane down. "The element of surprise"- Discuss.
Cmon, If you knew that your opponent is old you can do whatever strategy you want. What are you flomos so hyper about. Floyd elevates him nothing.
There nothing to gain here except a ticket to fight Pac. But Pac still rule buttomline.
So then whats the reason Roach told Shane no your'e too good for Pac on the two occasions Mosley tried to get a fight done with Pac?

So you're completely ruling out Naazim and the Mosley camp preparing for Mayweather to come forward when he got punched?
"Most people who aren't Mayweather fans consider him to be a pure punk, he's a talented coward the way they see it, and I disagree with that. I think this kid can rumble, I think he can stand in there and rumble a little bit. My impression of the fight? Shane's gonna come out and hit Floyd in the mouth, and Floyd is gonna sprout a tail, grow wings, draw fangs and claws and turn into a Dragon in the ring; And he'll start spittin fire balls." - Nazim Richardson
You're interpretation of what he said is much more accurate than mine though. Naazim never expected Mayweather to get aggressive :killyou:.
1) To fireback when he got punched yes they prepared for that but not for Mayweather walking him down the whole fight.
2) You are switching words around now. Nobody ever said Mayweather couldn't be aggressive but to totally walk shane down? No.
Since when does aggressive specifically mean to walk someone down are you serious?
1) What does that have to do with him walking down Mosley who none of those fighters could carry his jock strap lets be serious. This was Shane Mosley certified Hall of Famer. One of the biggest, fastest hardest punching welterweights.
2) Total B.S, nobody expected him to walk down Shane everyone thought him trying to stand toe to toe with Shane would lead him getting Ko'd let alone walking down Mosley
3) So when someone his firing off at you stepping aside and punching them doesn't mean COUNTERING? wow try again man.

Floyd has walked down Judah, Mitchell, and Corley, and that's only opponents from 140 and up. He's done it before.
I do not know how you can interpret a dragon and fireballs to just mean hard shots and not take into account aggressiveness at the same time. They fully expected Floyd to get aggressive and come forward after getting hit, Shane just couldn't deal with it.
After Naazim said the dragon comment, he said "When he does... I'm gonna tell Shane to step to the side and punch him in his stomach."
Yeah, because stepping to the side would be the exact thing to do to someone not coming forward.

Not trying to be a dick, just that I don't agree with your OP. Naazim tried to prepare Shane for everything and I am almost sure that he expected Floyd to get as aggressive as he got.
Shane is a class act, so he's not going to put the blame on anyone but himself. But in this case, he has to take all the blame because everything was laid out and he couldn't execute.
LMAO! I only edited the spelling of a word I noticed I mispelled. I see what you're saying though. lol But you can see from the replies that I actually see this coming. Cause most of them thought it was stupid for me to say it! lol
Lol just messing with you :beerchug::beerchug:
Spitting fireballs meaning firing back hard shots at Shane has nothing at all to do with walking Shane down. Nobody in their right mind expected floyd to walk Shane down.

Thanks man, i just checked out your post about it. You were spot on, only reason i can't give you full credit is because it was last edited at 4:05 am after the fight lol. But if you did call it before hand major props real genius. Nobody saw that coming. Can't wait to hear roach and nazim's interviews about the fight.

How do you know what Naazim and Shane expected?
I do not know why some of you cats act as if you're interpreters. Yeah, when Naazim said that Floyd would sprout a tail, wings, claws, and spit fireballs, he meant he expected Mayweather to start fighting from a distance :lol1:.
Good interpretation :fing02:.

That's a post I did about this. I watched Shane vs Collazo fight again and felt Floyd would back Shane up and possibly stop him. Good post though.

that shit is on pac too. arum works for pac, not the other way around.
pac can tell arum to cut whatever BS hes doing and make the fight happen but pac isnt doing that.
so pac is the problem just as much as arum
I agree, but i just have a feeling that anything Arum tells him to do he does when it should be the other way around.
I have to give props to the Pretty Boy, he was stunned and didnt panic... stayed calm and wanted to bang.
His quickness and timing made Mosley look every bit of a 38 year old.

Oh I too was surprised, Floyd showed he is versatile. No doubt in my mind a Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight would be great! Great offense vs Great defense.
Certainly would be, the only person holding this fight up is that scum Arum. He made it fall to pieces last time out.
floyd surprised the hell out of me

Is there any question that Floyd is one of the smartest fighters of all time?
Seriously...of all time.
Seriously no, there hasn't been a smarter fighter in the sport without a doubt. Everytime when Roger tells him "just box you gonna figure that motherfuka out "lol it just makes go damn the kid is a genius.
haha, floyd is an enigma and they know it. everyone knows it.
and you heard what floyd said in that smitty interview...i believe
he said hes looking for the fighter that can beat him. hes chasing the person who can beat him...thats epicness
The boy is special and won't get his just due till he's long gone by another generation.

I would not have use the word ENIGMA before last night. Crap, the dude fought a radically different style than we have seen him use before.
Now , the day after the fight, the word "Enigma" is a perfect fit.
