Merchant to Mosley:
"you virtually begged for this fight, what are your feelings now after losing so decisively?"
Calling Mosley a beggar, then rubbing the point that he lost so badly was pretty harsh of Merchant.
You'd think he'd show more empathy towards someone of Shane's class and considering he just lost.
Im a fan of Larry but sometimes his comments are unnecessary, especially last night when his hatred towards Floyd was apparent. Then again I guess that's what makes him so spectacular.
Merchant is a big Shane fan. He was probably very disappointed. He was very wrong for those comments. Merchant is the same guy who shouted "Shane Mosley I Love You." when he ko'd Margarito.
That was vs Mayorga, but good point, I think Merchant was probably pissed off that his great hope to beat Mayweather was vanquished so easily.
I think the artful dodger stuff was unnecessary and the way he tried to downplay Hatton as an opponent, when he didn't think it was a bad choice during the fight. He was going on about Hatton was worrying Floyd, because Floyd is used to fighting slow guys like Baldomir, whilst Hatton had quick footspeed etc.
But a few years later he now feels Hatton the Hatton fight was a chance for Floyd to duck somebody (who? only god knows!)
I'd love to see what he has to say if Mayweather beat Pacquiao or if Mayweather did something stupid like go up to 160 and beat someone.
Continually calling Floyd an "artful dodger" just seemed unnecessary and overboard, here he is fighting a guy everyone wants him to fight and Merchant repeatedly calling him dodger, it was wack.
Yeah, did you noticed how he tried to put words in Floyd's mouth? People like that are disgraceful, and i don't care what he has done in the past and how great he was back in the day, he's a biased prick. Why put pressure on only one of the fighters, why not put pressure on both of them? Unbiased? :killyou:

Larry Merchant is a the SUPREME HATER OF HATERS. I have never really seen what is so great about him that people feel HBO boxing commentating team will go down when he leaves. The HBO team is already shit except for Steward and Lewis. Shit Lampley as the play by play man always calls the fight wrong and that is terrible. If a person was to listen to Lampley call a fight on the radio then watch it on tv at home they would literally think WTF was Lampley talking about. Add Merchant depressing ass commentary and his fake ass poetic statements you have a fvcked up telecast IMO. FVCK Larry Merchant let his old go by the way side like they should have done a long time ago.

It's not about Pacquiao/blood testing. It's about him putting salt in Mosley's wounds, it's nothing to do with him being straight forward as he could have asked the same questions without being a condescending prick.
Shane did beg for the fight and he did lose decisively so what's the problem?
Besides Merchant loves Mosley anyway.
I love Larry Merchant he's the best color analyst out there. With that said he is a big time hater of Mayweather and it kills him when Mayweather wins. That makes me laugh. Larry also plays favorites. He never grills Pacquaio, Gatti (RIP) and guys like De La Hoya and the Klitscho's. But I hate when he's not on the telecast

Larry Merchant is on Floyd Mayweather too!!! If you listen throughout the fight and pre fight.
You will notice him putting down Floyd Mayweather.
From "sucking the excitement out of the fight" to "Trying to control the negotiations like the NSAB"
larry merchant is a manny groupie---i really though that after he aksed floyd about the ost's floyd would bring up larry's alcoholism---he looked a little stagged last night----1st his eyes looked red, dreary, his voice slowed and slurred at usual, and then the ****er put on glasses to see better----lmao----he knew the alcohol was kicking in, and blurring his vision, so why not throw on some reading glasses, to help look the part---larry disrespected shane, he disrespected floyd as usual, while the fight was taking place, and floyd has put larry in his place before, after the baldomir fight, he's lucky floyd wasn't in his 24/7 mode, and brought up larry's alcoholism---that would made the win for floyd that much greater----
Merchant is bad for the sport..they should be trying to showcase their fighters not drag them down
Dump that overrated garbage in the same gutter with all the other defunct television personalities
Lrry is a prick and a racist. He was throwing cheap shots at floyd all night as usual, discrediting everything he did. Mosley didnt deserve those comments.
I can't believe how biased Larry Merchant is against Floyd..Did anyone seen how he tried to put words in Floyd's mouth when he was interviewing him? Floyd said he want to be in an even playing field, but Larry tried to play it out as if Floyd is accusing other Boxers of using PED's..How biased is that guy? He downplayed the USADA just for the simple fact that Manny didn't agreed with it..If he isn't biased against Floyd, why didn't he tried to put pressure on both of those two guys instead of one, i can't stand people like that..
Larry Merchant had a tone of suspicion and maybe dissapointment possibly.
Shane talked about how he was tight and Larry came back with how many years he'd been a pro.
After he hit mayweather big the last time, he started fighting like he'd been hit with those two shots. It was bizarre.
Merchant was hating on Floyd before, during, and after the fight... When will that man ever give Floyd his props.. Even Steward gave Floyd his props and admitted that he didn't think Pacquiao can beat him after seeing that performance
If you watch the fight again you will notice he wasnt as hurt as it originally appeared. In any case by the end of that second round Mayweather had already started to pick Mosley apart
I've watched that round about 10 times already and he was one right hand away from at least being knocked down heavily.
