Even notorious body punchers as Hatton and Cotto...
None land to the body as accurately as Mayweather. Neither do they attack the mid section. Mayweather also broke Hatton down to the body, he'd throw 5-6 short right uppercuts to the body. Those shits will fuck you up!
Mayeather is very intuitive with his body punching...that's what i like about it..........you will notice against orthodox fighters he jabs to the midsection with the left.......with southpaws....he mixes in the same shot with his right hand......he essentially finished Mitchell with a str8 right hand to the mid section..........
That punch is damaging. I cringed everytime it landed.
floyd combined fighting smart, power punches and speed at the same time which has played obviously a big role in his success
Yeah with 40 seconds left in 10th round. Sky Sports feed acknowledged it, HBO feed= crickets, then continued on dissing Mayweather and blobbing about Pacquiao fight. HBO's commentary namely :peeright: Lampley is getting so biased now it is ridiculous you can tell where the rooting interests are and that is a capital no-no in sportscasting. You are supposed to be objective even if you are the house announcer for your local sports team.
SERIOUSLY, Sky Sports commentators > HBO that night. In the bold, 1st thing I noticed.
yeah I didn't realize we were listening to the sky sport feed till i noticed no biased as commentating in the first round.
He used it very well against Hatton too. His left arm was always locked in a clinch with Hatton and Mayweather consistently landed that right uppercut to the body throughout the fight. Eventually I think it added up.
floyd did that a lot against chop chop also, making him back away---floyd tired shane out, with punches like this, punches that shane didn't think floyd would throw----and he paid for it----you guys wonder why shane tired out? floyd tired him out with punches like this and counter right hands-----left hooks followed by right hands----floyd put on a masterpiece----as usual--- and this was his 2nd fight after retirement, and his 1st fight back was a little under 8 monts before this fight----imagine him staying active like he used to---back in his prime----he's not even in his prime physcially anymore--and i say this with the upmost respect for him---he's that damn good when it comes to mental skill in the ring, he's the ****ing truth, and manny will find this out, you people need to open your eyes---floyd is punishing manny, no doubt about it----it's all but written----
I liked those left hooks that Floyd would throw off the ropes while moving to his left....brilliant stuff...most of em were blocked tho..one area of the game plan that Shane executed perfectly was the left hook defense u could tell Naazim worked on that pretty often
Sky Sports were waxing a little too poetic about Floyd for my liking but as they would say it was a masterful, brilliant performance by Floyd lol. They also were more informative about the dialogue between Shane and Brother Naazim.
They ussually do that to be fair, when they do commentary they tend to sound passionate about it. :lol1:
I just hated the fact that they cut Floyds interview short and we didn't get to see Mosleys just because they wanted to cut to what there thoughts where on the fight, I was more bothered about what the fighters had to say. Also, the whole show was supposed to finish at around 6am over here, it finished at like 20 to, that was plenty of time to squeez in the interviews.
Yeah Merchant is too critical imo. He's supposed to be neutral but makes his dislike for Floyd embarrassingly obvious.
I don't mind parts of the team having fighters they like more than others, but when hes doing the interview he should be objective and give a good one, thats his job... not just trying to be critical on one guy cause you dislike him. The thing is, he should be happy to be involved in such a big fight, regardless of liking him or not.
Yes he was. Remember,
Merchant: Floyd, are you saying everyone is on PEDs?
WTF?!
Yeah, all he said was "I just want to make sure were on an even playing field, thats all I ask" and Merchant said that, he was either jumping to conclusions or trying to twist his words or both, or he was just drunk and got the wrong end of the stick. :lol1:
