You know.. shane use to rock guys and absolutely GO NUTS. He'd UNLOAD. He completely let floyd off the hook last night. predicted Shane to get Chico'd or Gatti'd, and although he got JMM'd instead, it still made me wonder where all of shanes tenacity disapeared to.
Also, shane "didn't" look in good shape. The man was soft in the ring, his stomach was pudgy during the ring walk. Floyd physically looked to be bigger/stronger than shane and thats bizarre right there. Shane gassing like that with only 400 punches thrown is another mystery.
But that's for a different discussion. I just wanna know why shane left that killer instinct at home. he didn't attempt to tee of at all in the second round, was just fortunate enough to land the the cross and the hook.
I honestly think he was scared to death, lol. 18 years in the sport, finally gets what he wants, and his nerves kick in. In any event, you cats should stop hating on clottey now.
He'd have beaten the shane that fought last night IMO, so would berto.
Well after that first right hand, Floyd clung on to his arm like his life depended on it, so he had no chance to follow up. The second punch that stunned Floyd was more of an equilibrium shot than anything, and Floyd recovered pretty well from it considering guys getting knocked out from equilibrium shots very often.
Great Boxing strategy when u get hurt. Don't fight back and don't try to run away you clinch. Smart smart fight by floyd, Mosley turned it up and Mayweather turned it up more. He adjusted to his adjustment. My appluase for both fighters :claps:

Common sense? Is that a 6th sense to you that you don't have?
Who the **** asked Mosley to go back in time and do it all over again like he was 30? No one and no one expected that from him. Age has little to do with happened in that fight. Mosley is always in shape and trains hard. Being 38 does not make that huge of a difference. He still got his legs, he still has the power in both hands to knock you out and his stamina isn't that bad either. Bernard Hopkins whipped Tito's ass in 11 rounds at nearly 37. Genetics has something to do with this but also hard work and the dedication to the sport. Mosley is a professional, he eats, sleeps and lives for this.
Mosley looked fine against Mayorga and Margarito didn't he? You're ****ing pathethic to think that Mosley already gassed out in the 2nd round. Floyd made him look old by being elusive and countering all night.
You ****ing Pacquiao fanatics do everything you can to discredit anyone you don't like. Face it, Floyd is P4P#1, whether you like it or not.
No, he didn't look fine against mayorga. I'm on record for saying Mosley is hit more miss and very inconsistant. Sometimes he's stale, sometimes he isn't.
Was fine oscar 1, stale oscar 2.
Stale vargas 1, fine vargas 2
Fine with castillo, stale against mayorga.
Thats how the man is. You never know how he is going to perform.
EDIT - fine with Collazo!
Does anyone not understand Mosley is almost 40 years old? You REALLY expect him to do the stuff he did when he was in his prime or YOUNGER? Cmon, act like you got common sense.
Or what he did.. like.. 18 months ago.
It isn't all that simplistic and squared that you want it to be.
Floyd is not Mayorga, Margarito or Cotto. He doesn't stand in one spot.
Mayweather is the fastest fighter Shane has fought. And you should know Mayweather by now: When you stick out your jab, hook or even a straight right/left, then you must prepare to get hit right away cause that's what Floyd does. He retaliates right away with a counter. Floyd didn't let Mosley settle and land a perfect shot. Every time Mosley looked for something or threw something at Floyd, Floyd followed up with his own punch(es). And you better believe that Mosley felt Floyd's power too. That's why he didn't move in recklessly. He approached with caution and respect.
The same Mosley who knocked out Margarito and Mayorga was still there in the ring. Mayweather was the problem in the receiving end of the ring. Floyd adjusted and took it all away from Mosley.
I knew this would happen though. No matter the outcome of the fight Floyd would get burned by the critics. We've been used to this for over a decade.
No ,it is that simple. The killer instinct is triggered regardless who you are or who you're in the ring with. I didn't ask why didn't shane take more risks, i asked where was his killer instinct. When he actually had floyd hurt, he didn't act as he normally would have.
The dude fought a scared, timid, risk free fight.

Mosley always has the killer instinct but I think somehow Mayweather discouraged Mosley from doing anything. Mosley was hesitant because Mayweather kept countering over his punches. This is the first time I ever seen Mosley this hesitant

That plus he gassed and tight nerves = domination against Floyd
It's hard to keep going for the kill when you get hit by every single punch your opponent is throwing at you. Mosley was so baffled by the speed and the fact that Floyd could hit him flush whenever he wanted to.
I'm speaking on the second round a lone.
floyd to away the combo that hurt him and shane couldnt muster up anything different.. Shane was trying so hard to get punches to land cleanly that he wasted time not throwing anything.
Shane still beats berto and clottey.. Especially clottey, clottey would get tko'd
You see, this is it though. This is ALWAYS been in. People trying their hardest to land something clean, and figure floyd out. That's the beauty of the shoulder roll. When your opponent stands sideways infront of you like that you pretty much only have 1 hand to to work with, your left hand.
Your right hand risks hitting floyd inthe back (and getting penalized) and you can only bring it over his shoulder, upstairs, to make contact with it.
This is why fighers get baffled in the ring against floyd. I spar against it in the gym all the time and do it as well to piss people off, they literally get lost. Stubborn guys who don't give a damn, will hit you anywhere, as long as they make contact (margi, for example) and southpaws best combat that roll.
Pacman is a pretty accurate puncher as well. he's always on the money with his shots. For that reason a lone i feel as though he'd be flustered in there too. But roach is smart and pacman always listens to him, i'm sure roach would let him know, don't worry about landing clean, just swing (Calzaghe/Bhop, anyone?) but it's easiar said than done.

Nah, he just doesn't handle well with elite boxers.
The guy doesn't have the smarts as well to adjust.
