It was hard for me to watch that shit. Mosley looked so lost, he looked exhausted, Naazim shouting at him telling him what to do and Mosley not following the game plan...it was just a sad site. He's one of my favourite fighters and it hurt seeing a legend like him get beaten like that by a much superior fighter.
All in all though, seriously...what can Mayweather not do??! Every fight we see from him he shows us a new side to him, it's quite incredible how skilled and talented he is. Against Corrales he went in their throwing vicious left hooks and outlanded and beat down a guy everyone thought was a monster. Against Castillo, despite many thinking he lost, he dug in worked hard and gritted out a hard decision and then won the rematch to silence any doubters. Against Hatton, he let Hatton come on the inside and beat him at his own game and then knocked him out sensationally. And against Mosley yesterday, just wow, he was the aggressor! Jabbing, hooking and tagging Mosley with HARD shots all night. I wish he would do take challenges like this more often, it would be amazing. I really think he could beat Williams, Martinez and whoever else! Anyone up to 160, he just needs to take these damn risks more often. He thinks he doesn't get praise, but shit if he does more of what he did last night, he'll get more respect all around.
he was getting picked apart but only took a few real hard shots, and he got the biggest payday of his career and PPV percentage.
if you want to watch a beating go re-watch Cotto/Pac
DLH Pacquiao is actually more fun to watch since DLH gives a No Mas
To be honest I didn't feel sorry for him. The fight reminded me so much of school days when someone would hype an individual up, chat shit in their ear about how they can beat X up. When the fight occurs they realise they're in over their head.
At the end of the day, he asked for the fight, begged for it even.
I have to agree, and this is the first time i've seen someone say it. You can have compassion for the losing man in a boxing match, but how can you feel sorry for this guy? These guys claim to be gladiators, they are professional fighters. Pity because he didn't win? He always knew that was an option. We can feel a little compassion because he didn't pull off the upset, but don't feel sorry for Shane. He knew what he was getting into, and, as FeFist says, he was practically begging for it. This is what happens when you go into a fight- especially against someone who is known to be one of the best (if not the best) at it !
You could tell by his face and his expression, in between rounds.. when Brother Nazeem told him to do this, to do that, that he knew Shane could do it... you could tell SHANE didn't believe it, in his heart. When someone doesn't believe it themselves, and are demoralized, the fight is basically over right there.
I think Shane knew he was beat, but was half-heartedly waiting/hoping for some miracle big shot, something like that. After all, Mosley would never quit on the stool.
I woke up today before running and thought about people like George Lopez, Dougie Fischer, etc., all predicting how sure they were Shane would be the first to beat Floyd. I'm wondering what they can say now to diminish Floyd's win, as we know they well! There isn't any way to beat Floyd.
agree wih this post. I think landing them shots in the 2nd round were abit of a mistake. Once he knew he couldn't put him away his heart and mind wwent in the fight.
I wanted the fight stopped not because i thought he was taking too much beating but because he was lost, It was a sad sight..He looked like a lost child in a desert.

When you beat a fighter mentaly and physically its considered a beating. The trainer was threattining to throw in the towel.
Yeah this is what I thought too! I mean Naazim said something along the lines of "don't make me do something I don't wanna think of doing" referring to throwing in the towel. Man listening to Naazim, it hurt. I know Mosley wanted this fight, but seeing someone who has entertained us for years get beaten so convincingly sucked. I hope Naazim gets some more talented fighters to train, Mosley and Hopkins on their way out and I want to see and hear more from him in the boxing scene.
yeah mosley was outclassed but did not take a beating...a pity floyd dont have the power, if he have that he could have been a perfect fighter..
anyway after a few rounds it was boring and very predictable...
I felt abit bad when Brother Naz was telling him to go out and do stuff and Mosley just looked like he wanted out there.
BOOM!! :fing02:...THATS what got to me!!

I felt the same way when Cotto was back peddling against Pacquiao. I don't know, Mosley was offering nothing and getting hit by so many clean punches. I swear Naazim wanted to stop it at round 10 or 11? I think it was how one sided it was after round 2 that got me.
Not me, I was actually mad at him. Dude couldn't stay relaxed, way too tense. So I see Shane breathing through his mouth and on top of that; bounching on his feet?! WTF!
I don't know man, it's hard to look good against Mayweather. I was thinking the same thing, "why doesn't Mosley let his hands go" or "why doesn't he throw the right hand more" but I think Mayweather just didn't allow him to....Mayweather hit him hard and often and it resulted in him being reluctant to throw. That's what I thought anyway.
